Steak Frites is a meal consisting of a beef steak and fries basically, usually with a salad and garlic mayonnaise/butter. C'est tres delicieux!

< says you're right, but this debate seemed to be more Mac vs. PC than Mac OS X vs. Windows.

< says that it's the same with Linux, because it's just a kernel. When it's associated with GNU userland, it when becomes an operating system, and the actual name is GNU/Linux. "Linux" is just used as an abbreviation. The same goes for Mac OS X, when it's simply called "Mac". Personally, I also hate names with spaces.

< says that "Mac" is NOT a type of computer, but simply a personal computer brand / product name, just like "Thinkpad". "Personal Computer" was also an product name, as used by IBM in the old days, but today, it is a classification about the use and design of an computer, which includes desktops, laptops, tablets and netbooks, but not necessarily gaming consoles, smartphones, PDAs, and especially not servers.
