it probably meant 10th birthday as in the 10th year since the series was created.

Rayman was born in 1984:

Rayman 1: 10
Rayman TAS: 20 (Due to Driving and Crud, Not Officially in the Rayman Series, just sorta official)
Rayman 2: 14
Rayman M/Arena: 17
Rayman 3: 19
Rayman Hoodlums' Revenge: 21
Rayman Raving Rabbids: 22
Rayman Kart: 23
Raving Rabbids 2: Deceased
Raving Rabbids TV Party: Deceased

These explain the ages in all major released Rayman games in my theory.
My idea updated.

I'm not sure if this has been said before but in Rayman 3 in the minigame "2D Madness", it says: "Sometimes, Rayman can remember when he was a kid a everything was in 2D."
This could mean that Rayman was really young in Rayman 1, possibly around 6 to 10 (guess)

i think that's just a play on when adults say things like "when i was a kid........"

Maybe... I just thought I'd mention it, that's all.
You've made a good point though, because he wasn't called "Raykid" in the first game.

Maybe that implies that he's a lot older in Rayman 3? Or even a fully grown man.

By the way, Raykid has a ring to it

law oneself however I think agree.I think that:
Rayman 1:6
Rayman2:TGE : 9
Rayman M:9.5-10
Rayman 3:12
Rayman RR:13,14,15....
===========================
but at me in Poland a spent package stayed "Rayman 10-te(dziesiąte) urodziny"[in english: Rayman 10th birthday) and was R3,R2,RM....
I think....maybe...but...I don't really know ;)
Darla, that's because literal translation of "10th anniversary" (dziesiąta rocznica) would suck. That's because in Polish "anniversary" isn't linked with birthday, or day of creation (e.g. in French they are probably same words), and there are anniversaries of "start of war", "death of somebody", "marriage".... but no just anniversary! That means, they had got two things to do:
1) Change anniversary into something other. (They've done it.)
2) Add extra word and make name too long.

Rayman. 10-ta rocznica powstania.
Hey, "powstanie" means not only creation, but also "uprising"!

Rayman. 10-ta rocznica stworzenia.
This word is linked with Genesis. (No Sega Genesis. Holy Bible. Creation of world.)

Rayman. 10-ta rocznica powstania pierwszej gry.
(10th anniversary of creating the first game.)
So why there is no first game in this box?! Why?!

So you see. This is simply problem with translation. Another thing is, they could call it
Rayman. Po 10 latach
(Rayman. After 10 years)
But, R1 strikes back. And LEM hasn't got rights to publish it.
