How about releasing the source code.

It's just as it says. When you build something for or with someone, and life takes a turn for the ugly, sometimes you can't continue putting your effort into it. It hurts too much.

By the way some MAJOR clues are mentioned in one of Off Topic forums, if you still need that.

He basically did something like that, the files are editable as long as you have the editing program, which is some version of Game Maker.

I know this is an old thread....somewhat, but......this game was looking and sounding so so so so beautiful! T_T It is a shame it will never be finished. Well hopefully the creator(s) will pick it back up. I'd play it~ definitely! And so would all of my friends. *gives heaps of inspiration and courage to finish the game to whomever should pick it up again, if ever*

TL;DR version: the game may come back.
I wrote:A few months ago, I said that this game was cancelled because of life and love. However, this is the real situation: I'm far too attached to both of those things. I realized that after all this time, nothing has changed at all. I'm still trying to fix everything, hold broken pieces together. I once had a dream about a Blue Lily that never existed. I tried to make it real and thought I couldn't, so I gave up. What was I thinking? Giving up destroyed everything. Those who saw "Race to the Sun" know that I had broken a promise, but I have no choice - I have to hold on to it once more. The dream had overtaken my life from the start, which means I'd sooner lose my life than the dream. I learned to face it: there never was a way around it.
If I carry on, the dream will carry on. If I carry on, the game will carry on.
If I carry on.

That's a beautiful piece of writing there. It even inspired me as well to keep moving forward with my dreams.
I would absolutely adore this project to come back, and from your new outlook I'm sure it will spring to life even more than before.
Also, that electoon standing there has perfect hair.

Maaaaybe if the Ubi Framework comes out soon, you'll be able to use that! That might speed things up and keep it fun, if time really is the problem here. Other than that, great to see old loose ends picked up again. I hate to see dreams shatter and love to see ambitions realised.

That's what I was planning. The UbiArt Framework should be released by the time I am finished with the story, script, etc. Besides, if I'm finished with that before it comes out, I can already start the assets drawing phase.
About the story: I'm running it through major changes. The plot twist involving Mr Dark I was planning to use, has been used by Rayman Origins (those thieves at Ubisoft!), so I can't use it anymore. Well, I can keep some elements from it...
The major villain of the plot has been changed to an original character that is far better at being evil.
I can also reveal that the game will become very "apocalyptic" as it progresses. Situations will get worse.Very weird things will happen. Nature will become unnatural.
I've started rewriting it all now (and drawing everything as well), and it's becoming much better. I can't show anything yet, but I will once the story is finished.

As soon as the script (which will be long but awesome) is finished, I'll send it to some members here (any volunteers who'd like to help by spoiling the story for themselves and giving constructive criticism?). And with your comments I'll improve the story even further.

I believe this whole game was based around the story of Electoons.

I would love to be one of the people that would get the script (I can't resist spoilers)!
Also:
I became really inspired by what you wrote about your dream...
And because of this I'm closet to my dream than ever!
Thanks so much!

Given that Electoons hold the fabric of the world together, maybe you could allow for the main character (I think his name was "Blue"), to have some special abilities in environmental manipulation.

Same here as well, I would enjoy reading the script and giving feedback.

More great news: I'm getting GM:HTML5 soon and adapting my game to that. That means I will not only be able to continue from the code I already have, but the game will also be playable in web browsers and multiple platforms.
