But i DO know the english part of my family owned some land in the UK in the 1700s... and i have a feeling that someone from my family still owns the land...

I doubt it; most land has been given to national trust or just another preservation system. Unless you just mean property.

Well I get public holidays and some paid days off, nowhere near as many I'd get as a student though.
