Aaaand here we go
Our question is... Which Rayman Alive 2023 projects are you most excited about? Feel free to vote and explain your favourite projects submitted this year. I'm very sure it won't be an easy choice

I only placed 4 down I didn’t know you couldn’t change. I was gonna think about the fifth, but so far I put Scepter of Leptys because it was cool and impressive, Mr Stones Armada as it was funny, the Minecraft DLC because I like Minecraft, and ROTD for obvious reasons

I'm very excited for the Scepter of Leptys, Revenge of the Dark, and most especially Rayman Polokurse!! I was pretty hyped when I saw what they had to show in the most recent Rayman Alive. The art style is so addicting!

I voted for those three projects too . I'm curious about some animated series (and luckily we'll have a better result than what we had from Ubisoft; tbh, it isn't too hard to improve that ) and hopefully we'll get a good story. I have no doubts we'll get a very interesting one: if it's made by fans, it will surely respect some lore. I'm also very happy ROTD is still under development. I remember watching this project a long time ago and it's good to see how Adsolution didn't give up despite all the obstacles. And as for Polokurse, I agree that the art style is unique and very beautiful .
Rayman 2 HD was my fourth vote. I've always wondered why didn't this game get a remaster or a remake, so I'm curious about the final result. Finally, I voted for Rayman: Nightmarish. Yeah, it's a comic, but I like comics and I'm really into interesting stories, no matter if it's from the Rayman series or another game franchise. I highly appreciate a good story.

There were lots of votes for this one, I'm glad you found it interesting! Hopefully we'll see more Rayman content in another Rayman Alive.
Now, let's go with the next poll, which is about power ups. In Rayman 2, Rayman could get the Power Fist in different locations. The Power Fist allowed Rayman to shoot more powerful energy orbs to his enemies, but he would lose this power up if he got hit three different times. This interesting power up has some equivalents in different Rayman games: the Golden Fist (Rayman 1), the Heavy Metal Fist (Rayman 3) and the Blue Punch (Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends). The question is... Which one of those power ups do your prefer?

I think the Power Fist is my favourite. You get to charge up those really awesome fireballs, and it's fairly rare in the game so it's worth guarding carefully so you don't lose those three hitpoints!

I actually voted for the UbiArt blue punch. I feel that it is more of a game changer than any of the other power-ups - giving you a ranged attack in a normally melee-only game. True that the Heavy Metal Fist in R3 is required to defeat certain enemies, but mostly it is just a more powerful attack and an ad-hoc way to avoid having to put door keys in the game.

I'm going to go with the power fist. It certainly saves me from having to charge up with the normal shot and when I DO decide to charge up with the fully charged power fist, it shoots off with a rocket like sound (including rebounding off walls), which I think is awesomeness.

The R3 Heavy Metal fist just can't be topped for me. Nothing feels as powerful as breaking a door last second with that powerup

The goldfist is elite. Interesting, strong, and just cool

I love killing off the more powerful hoodlums with the one-charge punch from this power-up! Not even the lockjaw could do that.

Lockjaw is honestly up there for me in terms of design as well. How badass are taser chains? But yeah one-hitting enemies with metal fist is awesome. You can really feel the weight of those punches when they connect!

Sorry for the delay, I was a bit busy with some personal stuff
As we were talking about power-ups, I think it's a perfect time to debate about Rayman's attack pattern. Rayman's characteristic attack pattern is throwing his fist to his enemies, but there's a little exception in Rayman 2 (well, I wouldn't consider it little, since this game has been a big influence for Rayman fans). In this game, Rayman shoots energy balls to his enemies. Considering these two attack patterns, our question this week is... Which kind of attack do you prefer?

I really like the powerball ofc. It’s just an interesting concept and thus gets my vote

Power Fist is probably the more tactical offensive power, the riccochet makes it very easy to cheese enemies (or bullet sponges - looking at you Barrel Pirates).
That being said, I feel like the classic Punch is more...iconic. It makes use of Rayman's own unique limblessness to do something that many characters can't, yeeting one's own appendages at high speed towards foes feels more unique and distinctly Rayman than just shooting energy from his hands (which is very Dragon Ball, actually, come to think of it:)
Granted I might have a bias towards the punch because it features in Rayman 3's combat, which I find a lot more engaging and fun compared to Rayman 2's.

Actually, isn't the charged Power Fist in Rayman Revolution a Kamehameha?

Haha, very much so, well, that or the hadouken. I do wonder what the rationale was behind that animation change to be honest, I don't think there was anything wrong with the original animation. Just an excuse to throw a potential reference in there? Or did they think the original animation didn't show enough "oomph" as it were?

For the new poll:
Balls, balls, balls!

The punch is classic, so I'm going with that. Though I could imagine energy balls being used in all the other games. Maybe not so much in Rayman 3 but.... (i mean maybe it would be possible to curve the energy balls shots but I wonder how that would work in code)
