Because the every store from 8 different companies was sold out within 100 miles in 10 minutes, and would probably not have new ones available until January. I've seen them get sold on eBay for up to 675$

I guess living in a country where most people don't know Nintendo still manufactures anything will have some benefits then.

By the way, with the RL being held off, I will hold off buying Wii U. I have some kind of personal rule that I don't buy a game system until ratio of price of console and primary accessories to number of games interesting me gets low enough. Right now it's too low, without getting into details.
