I know who, and they've known me long enough, alas, they also use terms that teenage me used, that have long fallen out of use for present me. (Meh? I ain't said that in years)

So they're not quite as authentic as they might think.

And I cleared things up because I had a feeling it was starting to cause distress.

The documentary mentions these clones, it was just a joke that was used a few times in the past, and it is often seen on days like April Fools or Record Day. It's just a harmless joke really.

The "fun" of clones is that you don't realize they're fake, and the people around you play along to see how long the joke can last. It's just a little game that started on April Fools' Day and seems to have resurfaced today, but it's not meant to be against anyone. It's all good

I don't think any malicious actions were intended, though given the place's history I can see why without prior knowledge of their existence you might get paranoid.

But yeah, they're meant to be extreme caricatures of me, playful and benign.
