My behaviour has kinda just been all over the place after August? I think? I split or something which caused me to see everything in black and white. I’m trying to get over that. Also they found black Mold in my room.

Back in February 2025, Microsoft announced that Skype would be discontinued in May 5 2025. It was replaced with Microsoft Teams.

Skype was indeed which I used back in 2010s era, probably I used it back in 2013 though.

Skype was the replacement for MSN messenger in its time.

Ah, MSN messenger... So many memories...

I hated Skype because of it, I always liked MSN / Windows Live Messenger more.

Though I probably dislike Discord more than I did Skype, because they just keep cluttering it up more and more.


But aside that, I got my Reese Christmas Ornaments up on the Christmas tree!

There's a lot I dislike about the modern state of Discord, but I don't think it's quite reached the same level of bloated mess that Skype did near its end. Though I did hear it apparently has some memory issues that they've had to add a force-restart function...

There are many people who use MSN Messenger, however it was called Escargot MSN. This also includes with Windows Live Messenger.

So far, I had used Discord after all (especially including Discord Server). If the rumor says that had Skype on Escargot, it would be nice.

My understanding is that Escargot is a third party revival of those services. Which is nice, but I don't know if you can really recapture the zeitgeist that existed during the prime of those applications. Even if functional, the general manner in which people use things these days I think would make a marked difference.

It's kindof like Old School versions of MMOs such as WoW or RuneScape, people do enjoy them and they've got their own subcommunities, but do they capture the same culture and atmosphere that those games did in the years they're recreating? I'd say no. Time marches on.
