I've never lucid-dreamed, I don't think. I'd like to try, but without putting any effort in, so I suppose I'll never have them

When I was around 10, I'd often figure out I was dreaming, and then I'd get sad, because I'd realise nothing else would happen now I knew it wasn't real. All I could do was wait to wake up, and it might have been getting interesting too.

Aw

That's really sad... but you've had semi-conscious dreams since at least!

I had a lucid dream once, it was awesome, I was flying and shit, and I could manipulate the dream into whatever I wanted.. It was like an incredible sandbox where anything could happen, powered by my brainbox instead of a computer!

I've been able to do this in the past. In fact, I was in more control of my dreams at one point. I used to have a plush tiger called Hobbes who, as I grew up, became a sort of channel to my inner storage banks of dreams. I could lean my head against his and visualise a library of dreams I had had before, seeing them as small snapshot images of said dreams, sorta like what YouTube is now, except YT didn't exist back then. I could then choose to 'PLAY' or 'RW' or 'FF' all throughout the dreams and I could also pick and choose multiple dreams to combine into one. They began fully lucid with me fully aware of the dream I'd chosen, but would then carry me and themselves into a new, unknown story, which then got added to the library.
My nightmares used to combine in a similar fashion. Once I had bested the fears of one nightmare, another would lurk around the corner. The cobra at the bar I talked about before on this forum was only the first setting in a series of floods, volcanic eruptions, still-in-the-building-while-it-is-demolished-by-industrial-grade-wrecking-ball-machines-scenarios, mad Indiana Jones-like chases and parental kidnappings. My nightmares would weave themselves into one devious string of bad dreams - somehow determined to make me frightened though I thought I could lucidly solve one with dream wits. But no, I
had to succomb to the fears they presented. My nightmares were relentless.
It makes for quite a cool story, reading all that back (and remembering it, too).
I'll tell you one of my nightmares - the one where my parents are taken. It's quite an interesting one. I haven't had it in years, but I remember it in fine detail.
I'm at a party in a place that is presumably my house somehow. It looks nothing like my house, but it is (of course), though the garden is exactly as it is in real life. Note that 'my house' is of course that of my parents, not the one I live in now. It's a busy party and I open the door for a new guest. It's like a shade looms over me, laughing and disappearing to smoke before my eyes. Distressed I look back into the garden to see my folks, who are both outside chatting to one another, be whisked away by a ginormous and colourful moth. I can't struggle through the crowd fast enough to get to them and am left with my hand outstretched to the sky as the creature escapes. I wake up shortly after.

So, you know how I had a violent twitch in my eye for most of yesterday morning? Yeah, well, last night I dreamed I lost the eye. Not sure why, I think there were evil spirits/haunted Hallowe'en decorations involved, but the eyeball ended up being plucked out of my skull. So I spent the remainder of the dream trying to protect the empty socket from damage/infection. It felt so real, when I woke up around half past four, I had to wink the other eye to convince myself it was all a dream.

That's horrid.

Good it was just a dream though!
It's fun how our dreams experiment on us, to try and see what you'd do should it happen in real life. I'd gather that, instead of freaking out, you protecting what you had left would be a great course of action.

I've found it interesting how sometimes my dreams are relevant to the events of the day I've had, sadly, my memory is such that I forget about the bulk of the dream within a minute or two.

I found that after I detailed one dream on this thread a couple of weeks ago, I've been remembering my dreams tons since.
My dream last night involved me chasing someone who was escaping me on a motorbike and had kidnapped someone who was apparently my friend. I had a somewhat unorthodox method of travel. Anyone seen Avatar: the Legend of Aang? How Firelord Ozai flies through the air using his Firebending as jet propulsion? Yeah, that. Except for whatever reason, I had to emulate the 'jet burner' sound my flame propulsion made by ways of vocal sound effects to be able to fly. It made everyone on the street look at me funny, despite me flying through the air like some wizard - which was, obviously, not the thing that was strange about me. It was, naturally, the vocal sound effects that caused people to turn their heads.
Dreams are amusing.

There's definitely a positive feedback loop of some kind there. Last year inco and I took turns telling our dreams on the French dream topic, and eventually I found my posts were growing almost exponentially in length. By the time inco "left" the forum, I was basically spending an hour typing each one! I figured it was because each time I spent ages describing a dream, it made me remember more details about my next one. I'm not sure that I see why that should be the case, but whatever.

Sounds nice, at least in retrospect, though I can't imagine it was too pleasant at the time.

No it was quite funny because I just thought 'fuk you, man, I'm flying and also I have to go stop this asshole from stealing my friend idc what you think'.

I'm sure I've thought that way in dreams before but can't think of specific examples.

February 23: Had a dream where I was in an entirely different house, then had a fight with someone, put gas in a car, saw a show with my mom and vividly remember telling her how I seem to be sick, went to summer school, school had the interior set up like one of my old schools, snoozed, went I to another dreamscape and dreamt about an episode plot, woke up from that dream and was inside a house with something lurking in it. And that's where the dream stops.

I dreamt. I was living far away in the country and in the afternoon two girls was asking me if they could sleep in my garden.
I awnsered the could sleep in my house.
Later in the night, overtrained ninjas was breaking and entering my house, trying to kill me.
I killed all of them and after the battle everyone (except me) was dead.
Then, a spiraldoor opened and I felt in it
I wooed up in my current house, unmasked.
Then I went in my kitchen and a person I know appeared in front of me with a gun pointed on me.
Why ? I asked.
Someone paid me. He awnsered.
DO IT ! I screamed.
Then I took the gun and I throwed it's clip away and I woked up.

So, last night I dreamt I was driving a car, which is strange, since I don't actually have a license, nor do I take lessons.
So anyway, I was on my way to school and I almost ran over the feet of one of my teachers.
Then I drove even further, right into a congregation of students and the car stopped.
So, basically everybody yelled at my and they called my mother, who then said that it wasn't my fault since I wasn't really taking lessons and I didn't know how to drive. That's when I woke up.
