Re: The phpBB RaymanZone Archive
I'm bumping this topic because I remember some people telling me there were still many pages that could be added to the archive. If someone feels like posting the links here, I'll add them
Re: The phpBB RaymanZone Archive
Yay!
Re: The phpBB RaymanZone Archive
I believe I once sent you a PM containing several links. Dunno whether it's been removed though, I sent it months ago.Hunchman801 wrote:I'm bumping this topic because I remember some people telling me there were still many pages that could be added to the archive. Re: The phpBB RaymanZone Archive
I'm bumping this thread because the RZ archive is cool, and is seemingly being ignored. Also, here's the RZ documentary:
Code: Select all

October 2002
'www.hoodlumsworld.com' opens. It featured a short flash intro, two teaser trailers for the game and a note that the full site would be coming soon.
January 2003
> RaymanZone and the lums quest opens to the public
> RaymanZone message boards open to the public. English admin: Cartrix. German admin: BBContact. French admin: Ryosan.

> Rayman 3 Hints & Tips forum created
> Worldwide Rayman 3 competition starts
April 2003
> Super Jake/Spoonfed incident; Super Jake threatens to hack H09's Mac, but fails
> Crispoon joins; spams the forummers and moderators' inboxes
> Metabee turns himself into a full-fledged “rebelâ€â€”his arrogant and somewhat hostile character irritates many members and even staff members
> Crispoon turns over a new leaf; becomes friendly
> Fansite competition ends—Pok2’s site “Wanted Rayman†wins
> renatoe marries and later divorces his online pigeon wife, Serena; Rayoflight puts a (fake) certificate up on her sig

> Javascript rank cheat revealed upon Lockewong accidentally giving Metabee a hint about it
> Metabee creates the “RZAdmin2†account after acquiring knowledge on how to cheat up to the (then) top rank, Rayman

> NickXXX13 and Countess Razoff become moderators
> Raymiles joins the board
> goldfistbb joins the board; quietly starts flooding the Lums Quest forum; some members start arguing with him
June 2003
> TARC completely dies out after a large chunk of RZ’s members flooded the TARC forums and guestbook
> Rank list is fixed; Javascript cheat no longer works
> Goldfistbb becomes enemies with Rexy because she doesn’t like him due to his consistent flooding
> Lockewong creates the “stretcherâ€â€”putting an incredibly long word in the user's location profile space so as to stretch the left column in the forums; many members (most noticeably ronpay) copy his idea
> L_Ly sends an e-mail to Cartrix begging to get off the staff list due to her lack of interest on the forums; Cartrix refuses stating, “She is a good mod.â€
> French moderator Hunchman801 is given powers to moderate the English forums
> L_Ly, desperate to get un-modded, creates a new account “Lawzy†and posts through it to convince Cartrix that she no longer cared about her older mod account.
> ronpay receives last warning from the staff and gives up the stretcher; many others follow his decision
> renatoe posts pornography images along with other disgusting pictures—like“goatse†and “tubgirlâ€â€”all over the boards (including the French and German ones); is immediately banned
> The Knocker replaces Lawzy as moderator
July 2003
> ronpay decides to leave; posts topic where he gave his password away
> Users log onto ronpay's account wreaking chaos throughout the boards; Cartrix immediatly posts a topic warning people not to give their personal information away; ronpay is banned
> Andre15 tries to get banned because he “loves†Lawzy but Lawzy doesn’t like him; Teambase apparently also “loved†Lawzy but didn't try to get banned
> Andre15, Teambase and Lawzy all leave the forums
> ronpay starts two new accounts—Andre94 and Silverlumbb (copying goldfistbb’s name) and posts using them, confusing many members
> Lots of polls and petitions are created to ask the admins for a forum section devoted solely to off-topic posts due to the presence of many off-topic threads in every English section, especially the “Lums Quest†section
> Hunchman801 is removed from both English and French staff; banned due to complaints made from people of the French forums
August 2003
> Cartrix leaves; Thunak becomes the new admin
> Thunak creates the “Off-Topic†forum after many requests from many members
> goldfistbb starts posting relentlessly (his record being 443 posts in one single day); other members follow, most noticeably PhoenixG, Xore, Rexy and The Hoodman, all fighting for the then very coveted top poster position
> Hatred for Goldfistbb rises because of his unwanted flooding
> Raymiles is believed to create the “?????????†account; and tricking everyone into thinking he’s a “secret agent†of TARC to give hints to the forum; Lockewong denies this and starts protesting against Raymiles’s posts
> Raymiles’s cousin creates another account—Glomiles—after Raymiles tries to get him involved in the forum
> People believe it is Raymiles posting through these accounts, subsequently gets abuse hurled at him
> lockewong and Jona NL get into a deep fight, debating on whether Raymiles truly is “?????????†or not
> Many senior members leave because of all the spam around the board due to the “top poster raceâ€

September 2003
> renatoe creates other accounts (e.g., Gazah) and spams the board using them, all the spam being deleted by The Knocker, lockewong and other mods; renatoe’s alternative accounts were banned not very long after
> Gigaman—a member who in the future would be characterized for his very bad English—joins; starts flooding the forums with many useless posts
> goldfistbb and Rexy almost reach 10,000 posts
> Andre15 returns, condemning Silverlumbb of actually being goldfistbb’s alternative account (this was later revealed as being lies by lockewong and goldfistbb)
> Andre15, after a few days of argument, finally gives up on his hypothesis; apologises; soon leaves only to come back much later
October 2003
> renatoe returns with a “new personalityâ€
> Countess Razoff and The Knocker fall into another argument against lockewong and goldfistbb
> To put an end to the incessant arguments and fights between the moderators, the Rayman 3 forum is completely cleared by The Knocker and Block (who logged onto RZ with lockewong's account); this soon becomes the most devastating event ever to happen in RZ was later became known as the “October 11th Incidentâ€
> The “Person above you†game is therefore deleted; forum activity is somewhat diminished
> The Knocker, still furious at lockewong, tells the whole forums that it was actually lockewong who deleted the “Person above you†game
> The “Person above you†game is recreated and called version 2.0
> Block becomes enemies with The Knocker because he feels “cheatedâ€
> The Knocker and Hoodlum09 both leave the forums
> The VIP Zone is finally exposed to the public
> Boredalot leaves temporarily and makes the flow of Sinfest comics come to a stop
> goldfistbb leaves for a short while
> The Knocker exposes lockewong’s password to Rayoflight and others
> Rayoflight’s cousin and Metabee post through lockewong’s account, abusing his mod powers
> Thunak expunges The Knocker from the staff list; bans Metabee; changes lockewong’s password; removes deleting rights from moderators
> Rexy, Poroko and Raygirl become moderators
> Forums become filled with spam topics as moderators no longer have the right to deletion; the idea of a trash can forum of sorts arises
> Thunak, following the idea of some members, creates the “Trash Can†forum which is hidden from regular members
November 2003
> Unhappy, even more senior members leave, mostly to join deviantART since lots of decent RZ members who left had a userpage there
> “Mod Forum†is created, which only English moderators and admins could view and post in
> Block starts his infamous rants where he raves on about many of the new changes the admins did and many other aspects of RZ which needed improvements
> Influx of new members; rate of spam threads slightly rises
> Gigaman leaves
> LordPaludis floods the “Hints and Tips†forum with over 30 topics of spam
December 2003

> LatinoDanny joins; spams the boards; leaves users annoyed
January 2004

> Block becomes friends with The Knocker again
March 2004
> goldfistbb returns to the forum as a different and kinder user
> Suffy starts a new TARC with four members who teamed up to spam the forums
> Thunak comes back from his long absence; bans Suffy and some other spammers like LatinoDanny
April 2004
> Block posts his April Fools joke describing a new “cheat†he discovers in Rayman 3 which, of course, isn’t true, though many members fall into it
> renatoe also posts his April Fools joke (involving Lockewong, Deadshot and Rayoflight), tricking lots of users into thinking they were all leaving the forums
> Rayoflight receives her first complaint from a parent of a member of RZ about the profanity in her signature pictures of MSN messenger chats with renatoe
> Raygirl returns to the forum after almost five months of inactivity
> Hoodlum09 and Countess Razoff are removed from the staff team due to lack of activity on the forums
> Three new moderators: Jona NL, PhoenixG and Block
> Atesih joins the forums; starts stretching forum pages with remarkably long spam posts; is banned almost immediately by the admin, Thunak, who’d became a little more active
> Atesih returns with a different account—“Revengeâ€; starts stretching the forum pages with spam again; is immediately and finally IP banned by Thunak
> Allianpogi joins the forums; starts flooding the “Rayman 3†and “Lums Quest†sections with pointless topics to gain more lums
May 2004–July 2004
[Nothing registered in this period. If you remember anything from this time, let us know straightaway.]
August 2004
> xmgax, wanting to leave, starts a topic claiming to be his brother announcing that he died from getting shot when he tried to stop a riot in the FC training grounds in Warsaw; garners lots of attention.
> Controversy around his accident [sic] vanishes; Xgmax creates a new account—Shadowcat32
> Ray-Man8831 refuses to change his enormous signature image despite various warnings from the staff team; is banned soon thereafter
> A significant moment in the history of RZ: Tobbe joins.
September 2004
> Spam finally dies down; the forums gradually regain their former glory
October 2004
> A few members try to cause trouble over the one-year anniversary of the infamous “October 11th†incident; are modded by jona NL and Block
> Raymiles pushes jona NL’s patience to the limit, posting numerous topics in the OT forum and nit-picking every word he says
November 2004
> Raymiles is banned by jona NL after harassing him and posting lewd pictures on the forum
> Raymiles comes back with a new account (RaymilesX) and sends private messages to various members asking for support in getting back
> Raymiles makes a new account (Scratch) so he can infiltrate the forum and gradually build up people’s trust in him
December 2004
> The RZ site and the RZ forums are infected with a worm virus. It later emerges on Pirate Community (a fan forum) that an organisation known as ARZO had long existed in a secret forum, consisting of members who had been unfairly banned from RaymanZone. The group used their expert hacking knowledge to bring down RaymanZone, in revenge
> RZ site is back up; forums still dead
January 2005 - April 2005
> Barren phase: message boards still down; most members communicate each other via AOL/MSN messenger; several join the “Pirate Community†forums founded by Hunchman
> Block begins his non-stop series of complaints to UbiSoft; gets nothing but automated responses or redirections
May 2005
> New infopop forums opened
> “Lum Quest†doesn't work as members are unable to earn lums from posting
> Few senior members return: pok2, jona NL (Cyberscreen), renatoe (make_me_dance), Saffya, Xeiqu, lockewong (Go0gley), AntitoonNato, etc.) as well as a few new members
> matyuv advertises the “Pirate Community†forums; leaves shortly thereafter
> Forums steadily reach 1,000 posts
June 2005
> matyuv returns
> pok2 and drolpirate banned due to warez discussions
> peterpower, a user from the old RZ boards known for his bad English, is banned a few days after his joining the forum due to spamming and “being a general nuisanceâ€
> Staff members finally picked: moderator team includes Cyberscreen, Go0gley, Jasminam, FCY-JMDK-WLKY and bitebug2003
> Community manager unveiled: Randomos
> Staff decides to unban pok2 upon reviewing his case; drolpirate remains banned
> Forums continue to blossom as more and more old members join; reach 5000+ messages posted
> List of forums added to the top of every forum page along with a staff list
July 2005
> Go0gley willingly retires from staff team due to “overreactive mods†and lack of time
> matyuv tries to get banned by spamming the RZ documentary topic; gets his username suspended
> matyuv instantly returns with “fantayay†and “bannedfanta†accounts; starts spamming again; gets banned quickly
> Randomos leaves his position of community manager
> UbiSoft begins the process of choosing a new admin
> Raymiles (RaymilesPrime) rejoins and apologises for his misbehavior
> Raymiles e-mails old members asking them to rejoin
> Rexy and GoldfistBB rejoin—Rexy made a few posts informing the members of how she was doing but left again shortly thereafter; GoldfistBB still posts every once in a while
August 2005
> Robocoddess and Raygirl are banned by an outsider (non-RZ) moderator for a week because of posts made months before
> Rylm posts in the documentary about members being unfair to him; is subsequently made fun of by Raymiles and Xeiqu for repeatedly calling Hunchman 'His Highness', and also made a reference to Hunchman being God
September 2005
> Robocoddess and Raygirl are given back their posting privileges by the moderators
> Hunchman leaves in peace after all the members call it square
> Many members thought info regarding “Rayman 4†would be released this month as it was Rayman's 10th anniversiary; this was later proved to be bogus
October 2005
> UbiRazz is made moderator of Rayman Zone once again. He posts a welcome back topic.
> UbiRazz creates a light-hearted competition topic in which we have to guess the name of his cat. Newray wins (a toy lum among other things) with the answer, 'Maneki Neko'
> The member 'rayda' joins the forums. Many people think that he is a noob beyond hope, largely due to the terrible quality paint signatures that he makes for members (they are so bad that they are first thought to be a joke), and useless messages. However, after some hard lessons, he eventually ends up as a valued member of the community
> Rayman 4 is announced to the press at the relatively obscure 'Gaming Session 2005'. No English press are present, so members are left to translate the few French and German pages that exist. It seems that Michel Ancel will be working on the the game, making many members (considering Rayman 2 to be the most groundbreaking game of the series so far, and also being impressed with his latest ventures such as Beyond Good & Evil) very happy
November 2005
> UbiRazz creates another competition in which people have to make him a Christmassy wallpaper. Matyuv wins, followed by AntitoonNato, and Yv0386-51. These three entries win a copy of Rayman Hoodlums' Revenge on GBA, and Matyuv's wallpaper is set on UbiRazz's desktop for the rest of the Christmas season. UbiRazz also sends every person who had a shot at it a toy lum
December 2005
> FCY creates a mini-competition in which members have to create banners for the four forums, in order to make the place look a little more festive
> Many members join in with the trend of Christmas competitions and create their own
> Every file on the RaymanZone is deleted; the forums no longer work. Some fear a new hack, but such fears soon prove to be false and the site returns to its original state
January 2006
> The member 'Dreyfus2006' joins. Bemuses many with his relentless atempts to create an official Rayman map, and somewhat unique personality
> 3rd anniversiary of RZ
> FCY, Bitebug and jasminam quit the moderating team, being tired with the community rejecting them under the grounds that they did not have much history with RaymanZone. AntitooNato, Newray, Pok2 and Xeiqu are appointed as the new moderators. Cyberscreen remains a moderator
> Vip3rion (t3h1) joins the forums. Is well known to be the forum joker, along with matyuv
> FCY gives matyuv a week long suspension for arguing with a moderator in their leaving topic
> The leaving topic goes downhill; jasminam is forced to lock it
> UbiRazz fixes the cencor, which was blocking any word containing 'ass' (mass, pass, glasses etc.), with the note "I R TEH FIX0R!1"
> rbnikke starts a Rayman fan-game project, so members can help him create a Rayman game. The idea is a success, and an initial 14 dedicated members join, covering different design and coding stages
February 2006
> FCY ends matyuv's suspension
> Vip3rion is banned by the Community Manager of the Shadowbane forums for bumping his postcount with spam there
> Vip3rion returns with his old account, 't3h1'
> A day of confusion strikes the forums. A member 'M4tyuv' joins the forums and starts impersonating the original matyuv. Nobody knows who it is. M4tyuv is banned by moderators, but returns under the new account, 'Hvadja'. This account is banned; returns under the name 'Hvadja_Odadijan'. Various new accounts appear, including Vladik_Obejda, Gloman_316, and SuperJake2006, all of whom impersonate matyuv. In the end it is revealed that the first three accounts were originally created by lobasuu, and then t3h1 and Raymiles joined in.
> A new rule is created, banning the act of impersonating other forum members
> The forums' first Official Chat Thread reaches 100 pages, meaning it's time for another one. Thus, the Official Chat Thread # 2 is opened. Hoot and Holler.
> Xenon09 leaves to become a mod in another forum, without noticing that the forum in question rarely gets more than four posts per day
March 2006
> A rumoured leaked document from Ubisoft says that Rayman 4 will be released in November 2006, and also that it will be on Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution (but not PS3)
> The forums continue in a relatively peaceful, yet still active, state
April 2006
> More to stick to good old Raymanzonian tradition than anything else, a few April Fools Day pranks are carried out with varying sucess. Tyzebug claims that Rayman 4 has just been released, although many were expecting someone to do so; and the moderators claim to have been granted full powers, allowing them to ban Raymiles (who organised it), and threaten others
> Rayman 4 is announced by Ubisoft for the second time, although this time in a large press release. Much to the delight of fans, they confirm that Michel Ancel is leading the project with his Montpellier team, cite 'Holiday 2006' as the release date, announce that it will feature on next- and current-generation consoles, and express general satisfaction with the existing product. However, not a single piece of media is released. Most believe that the great unveiling will come at E3
> Monkeyhat replaces UbiRazz as admin. Monkeyhat remains silent
> Acheval is also made an admin. Acheval makes a friendly welcome topic in the General Chat forum, and strongly hints that when a forum gets a new admin, it means that information is sure to follow. Acheval also explains that she will manage the US information, whilst Monkeyhat manages the UK
> The moderators are given full powers by Acheval, and the forum header is updated to reflect this
> Raygirl returns, much to the delight of some and hugs of others
> matyuv and t3h1 are given a three week suspension for their consitent posting of spam and harassment of other members
May 2006
> matyuv and t3h1 are finally banned permanently from the forums, after filling the Off Topic boards with spam. They are suspected of already having existing, undetected aliases in the forums, however
> Ubisoft is rumoured to have registed the name 'Rayman Raving Rabbids' a week before E3. Most members mock this
> Ubisoft actually announces Rayman Raving Rabbids. The general response is firstly of shock, but many gradually grow to be excited about the concept
> A screenshot of Rayman 4 is leaked onto the internet through Gamespot. Ubisoft asks Gamespot to remove it, and the moderators attempt (but largely fail) to keep its circulation to a minimum
> Excitement peaks as E3 begins
> A new Rayman Raving Rabbids forum is added, with a new skin
> A mini-site featuring two screenshots (one if which is the leak) is released by Ubisoft
> The very first video is revealed just before E3, hidden inside a Nintendo Wii advert. It is very short, so people remain passive about it
> A full blown trailer is released on the first day of E3. It features a large cinematic in which huge bunnybots attack what appears to be the teensie city. The video is met with an overwhelmingly positive response, many finding that they'd finally understood what Michel was trying to do, and loving the idea
> More information about Rayman 4 steadily trickles in, including two new videos, an interview, and a press article. Many are very happy with what these reveal: that the universes in the game will be free-roaming and epic, unlike the linear style of the previous games
> People begin to recieve emails from 'Ubisoft security', asking for mods to resign, members to leave, and asking Rb to terminate his fangame. Acheval tells the forums that there is no such organisation as Ubisoft Security, and calls for extra viligance. The emails slowly deteriorate in convincingness, until they are just a stream of foul language. The moderators try to locate the source of the emails, but to no avail
> The Raymanzone Fangame Project gets started up again, boards return, and a site starts to be developed
> Monkeyhat makes his first post, notifying members of 3 new videos at Raymanzone (one of Michel Ancel being captured by the bunnies, a E3 video, and an interview with Ancel and Xavier Poix). People attempt to welcome him in the topic, but he does not return to it
June 2006
> ARZO announce their return, through the Pirate Community forums. They announce that they still want 'revenge' upon RaymanZone, and intend to hack the forums. This is largely disregarded as an empty threat by members due to the high level of security of the Groupee forums; however, ARZO are suspected of some of the recent forum attacks, such as the fake emails
July 2006
> The Groupee database is offline for several hours, until the latest backup is put online, meaning that some posts are lost. It later emerges on Pirate Community that is was ARZO's doing
> Information continues to flow in steadily about the sequel, mainly via interviews. A new member looks at the meta tags of the official website, and discovers various information about the game, such as the re-appearance of Ly
> ARZO suddenly publicly disband, saying that they believed they had already destroyed the original RaymanZone with their first hack
> The Moderators open the first of the periodical Rabbids-related forum competitions
August 2006
> The forums are hit by a wave of spammers; these slowly seem to phase out, however
> Scans from Nintendo Power Magazine are posted in the forums. There is some major content such as the first glimpse of Rayman's girlfriend, but these eventually have to be locked by Acheval due to copyright issues
> Ogre's a girl
> A member of the Kill RaymanZone Klan (KRZK) managed to log in as Newray; all the posts are deleted, the hacker states that the forums are defaced.
> A lot of members complain about their post counts getting reset back to 0.
> A rumour that there are no official backups made is spread over the boards; pok2 makes the RaymanZone Archive website, members start posting the old topics again. Panic on the forums dies down.
> Matyuv starts the minigolf multiplayer game championship.
March 2007
>RaymanZone was deleted again by the KRZK.
>PianoMan creates many accounts and soon reveals his latest one two days after he joined in that account.
Summer 2007
> Xeiqu starts the Rabbid Disownership Club, pointing out, that “Their gameplay, character design, and plotlines are all worse-than-mediocre, and they in no way fit in with any of the other Rayman characters or worlds.” Every active RZ member joins.

over 100 members joined, soon turning it into a very complex organisation May 2003 > ronpay joins the message boards > Javascript rank cheat revealed upon Lockewong accidentally giving Metabee a hint about it > Metabee creates the “RZAdmin2†account after acquiring knowledge on how to cheat up to the (then) top rank, Rayman > Metabee's attitude towards other members gets worse and worse; becomes somewhat of an outcast > Cartrix (then admin) warns users not to use the Javascript cheat lest they get banned; Metabee is given his last chance to dump his attitude > NickXXX13 and Countess Razoff become moderators > Raymiles joins the board > goldfistbb joins the board; quietly starts flooding the Lums Quest forum; some members start arguing with him June 2003 > TARC completely dies out after a large chunk of RZ’s members flooded the TARC forums and guestbook > Rank list is fixed; Javascript cheat no longer works > Goldfistbb becomes enemies with Rexy because she doesn’t like him due to his consistent flooding > Lockewong creates the “stretcherâ€â€”putting an incredibly long word in the user's location profile space so as to stretch the left column in the forums; many members (most noticeably ronpay) copy his idea > L_Ly sends an e-mail to Cartrix begging to get off the staff list due to her lack of interest on the forums; Cartrix refuses stating, “She is a good mod.†> French moderator Hunchman801 is given powers to moderate the English forums > L_Ly, desperate to get un-modded, creates a new account “Lawzy†and posts through it to convince Cartrix that she no longer cared about her older mod account. > ronpay receives last warning from the staff and gives up the stretcher; many others follow his decision > renatoe posts pornography images along with other disgusting pictures—like“goatse†and “tubgirlâ€â€”all over the boards (including the French and German ones); is immediately banned > The Knocker replaces Lawzy as moderator July 2003 > ronpay decides to leave; posts topic where he gave his password away > Users log onto ronpay's account wreaking chaos throughout the boards; Cartrix immediatly posts a topic warning people not to give their personal information away; ronpay is banned > Andre15 tries to get banned because he “loves†Lawzy but Lawzy doesn’t like him; Teambase apparently also “loved†Lawzy but didn't try to get banned > Andre15, Teambase and Lawzy all leave the forums > ronpay starts two new accounts—Andre94 and Silverlumbb (copying goldfistbb’s name) and posts using them, confusing many members > Lots of polls and petitions are created to ask the admins for a forum section devoted solely to off-topic posts due to the presence of many off-topic threads in every English section, especially the “Lums Quest†section > Hunchman801 is removed from both English and French staff; banned due to complaints made from people of the French forums August 2003 > Cartrix leaves; Thunak becomes the new admin > Thunak creates the “Off-Topic†forum after many requests from many members > goldfistbb starts posting relentlessly (his record being 443 posts in one single day); other members follow, most noticeably PhoenixG, Xore, Rexy and The Hoodman, all fighting for the then very coveted top poster position > Hatred for Goldfistbb rises because of his unwanted flooding > Raymiles is believed to create the “?????????†account; and tricking everyone into thinking he’s a “secret agent†of TARC to give hints to the forum; Lockewong denies this and starts protesting against Raymiles’s posts > Raymiles’s cousin creates another account—Glomiles—after Raymiles tries to get him involved in the forum > People believe it is Raymiles posting through these accounts, subsequently gets abuse hurled at him > lockewong and Jona NL get into a deep fight, debating on whether Raymiles truly is “?????????†or not > Many senior members leave because of all the spam around the board due to the “top poster race†> Boredalot starts posting Sinfest comics in his signature occasionally, entertaining many people on the forums September 2003 > renatoe creates other accounts (e.g., Gazah) and spams the board using them, all the spam being deleted by The Knocker, lockewong and other mods; renatoe’s alternative accounts were banned not very long after > Gigaman—a member who in the future would be characterized for his very bad English—joins; starts flooding the forums with many useless posts > goldfistbb and Rexy almost reach 10,000 posts > Andre15 returns, condemning Silverlumbb of actually being goldfistbb’s alternative account (this was later revealed as being lies by lockewong and goldfistbb) > Andre15, after a few days of argument, finally gives up on his hypothesis; apologises; soon leaves only to come back much later October 2003 > renatoe returns with a “new personality†> Countess Razoff and The Knocker fall into another argument against lockewong and goldfistbb > To put an end to the incessant arguments and fights between the moderators, the Rayman 3 forum is completely cleared by The Knocker and Block (who logged onto RZ with lockewong's account); this soon becomes the most devastating event ever to happen in RZ was later became known as the “October 11th Incident†> The “Person above you†game is therefore deleted; forum activity is somewhat diminished > The Knocker, still furious at lockewong, tells the whole forums that it was actually lockewong who deleted the “Person above you†game > The “Person above you†game is recreated and called version 2.0 > Block becomes enemies with The Knocker because he feels “cheated†> The Knocker and Hoodlum09 both leave the forums > The VIP Zone is finally exposed to the public > Boredalot leaves temporarily and makes the flow of Sinfest comics come to a stop > goldfistbb leaves for a short while > The Knocker exposes lockewong’s password to Rayoflight and others > Rayoflight’s cousin and Metabee post through lockewong’s account, abusing his mod powers > Thunak expunges The Knocker from the staff list; bans Metabee; changes lockewong’s password; removes deleting rights from moderators > Rexy, Poroko and Raygirl become moderators > Forums become filled with spam topics as moderators no longer have the right to deletion; the idea of a trash can forum of sorts arises > Thunak, following the idea of some members, creates the “Trash Can†forum which is hidden from regular members November 2003 > Unhappy, even more senior members leave, mostly to join deviantART since lots of decent RZ members who left had a userpage there > “Mod Forum†is created, which only English moderators and admins could view and post in > Block starts his infamous rants where he raves on about many of the new changes the admins did and many other aspects of RZ which needed improvements > Influx of new members; rate of spam threads slightly rises > Gigaman leaves > LordPaludis floods the “Hints and Tips†forum with over 30 topics of spam December 2003 > Various forum improvements; return of a few senior members; influx of newbies lowers > LatinoDanny joins; spams the boards; leaves users annoyed January 2004 > RZ’s first birthday; new avatars are launched as a present > lockewong becomes friends with The Knocker again > For reasons still unknown to the public, Countess Razoff leaves the forums, never to be heard of again February 2004 > Super Jake returns as a polite person, though with a different account—“terminator6†> Suffy joins the boards; attempts to make everyone believe TARC is still alive; spams the forums > Block becomes friends with The Knocker again March 2004 > goldfistbb returns to the forum as a different and kinder user > Suffy starts a new TARC with four members who teamed up to spam the forums > Thunak comes back from his long absence; bans Suffy and some other spammers like LatinoDanny April 2004 > Block posts his April Fools joke describing a new “cheat†he discovers in Rayman 3 which, of course, isn’t true, though many members fall into it > renatoe also posts his April Fools joke (involving Lockewong, Deadshot and Rayoflight), tricking lots of users into thinking they were all leaving the forums > Rayoflight receives her first complaint from a parent of a member of RZ about the profanity in her signature pictures of MSN messenger chats with renatoe > Raygirl returns to the forum after almost five months of inactivity > Hoodlum09 and Countess Razoff are removed from the staff team due to lack of activity on the forums > Three new moderators: Jona NL, PhoenixG and Block > Atesih joins the forums; starts stretching forum pages with remarkably long spam posts; is banned almost immediately by the admin, Thunak, who’d became a little more active > Atesih returns with a different account—“Revengeâ€; starts stretching the forum pages with spam again; is immediately and finally IP banned by Thunak > Allianpogi joins the forums; starts flooding the “Rayman 3†and “Lums Quest†sections with pointless topics to gain more lums May 2004–July 2004 [Nothing registered in this period. If you remember anything from this time, let us know straightaway.] August 2004 > xmgax, wanting to leave, starts a topic claiming to be his brother announcing that he died from getting shot when he tried to stop a riot in the FC training grounds in Warsaw; garners lots of attention. > Controversy around his accident [sic] vanishes; Xgmax creates a new account—Shadowcat32 > Ray-Man8831 refuses to change his enormous signature image despite various warnings from the staff team; is banned soon thereafter > A significant moment in the history of RZ: Tobbe joins. September 2004 > Spam finally dies down; the forums gradually regain their former glory October 2004 > A few members try to cause trouble over the one-year anniversary of the infamous “October 11th†incident; are modded by jona NL and Block > Raymiles pushes jona NL’s patience to the limit, posting numerous topics in the OT forum and nit-picking every word he says November 2004 > Raymiles is banned by jona NL after harassing him and posting lewd pictures on the forum > Raymiles comes back with a new account (RaymilesX) and sends private messages to various members asking for support in getting back > Raymiles makes a new account (Scratch) so he can infiltrate the forum and gradually build up people’s trust in him December 2004 > The RZ site and the RZ forums are infected with a worm virus. It later emerges on Pirate Community (a fan forum) that an organisation known as ARZO had long existed in a secret forum, consisting of members who had been unfairly banned from RaymanZone. The group used their expert hacking knowledge to bring down RaymanZone, in revenge > RZ site is back up; forums still dead January 2005 - April 2005 > Barren phase: message boards still down; most members communicate each other via AOL/MSN messenger; several join the “Pirate Community†forums founded by Hunchman > Block begins his non-stop series of complaints to UbiSoft; gets nothing but automated responses or redirections May 2005 > New infopop forums opened > “Lum Quest†doesn't work as members are unable to earn lums from posting > Few senior members return: pok2, jona NL (Cyberscreen), renatoe (make_me_dance), Saffya, Xeiqu, lockewong (Go0gley), AntitoonNato, etc.) as well as a few new members > matyuv advertises the “Pirate Community†forums; leaves shortly thereafter > Forums steadily reach 1,000 posts June 2005 > matyuv returns > pok2 and drolpirate banned due to warez discussions > peterpower, a user from the old RZ boards known for his bad English, is banned a few days after his joining the forum due to spamming and “being a general nuisance†> Staff members finally picked: moderator team includes Cyberscreen, Go0gley, Jasminam, FCY-JMDK-WLKY and bitebug2003 > Community manager unveiled: Randomos > Staff decides to unban pok2 upon reviewing his case; drolpirate remains banned > Forums continue to blossom as more and more old members join; reach 5000+ messages posted > List of forums added to the top of every forum page along with a staff list July 2005 > Go0gley willingly retires from staff team due to “overreactive mods†and lack of time > matyuv tries to get banned by spamming the RZ documentary topic; gets his username suspended > matyuv instantly returns with “fantayay†and “bannedfanta†accounts; starts spamming again; gets banned quickly > Randomos leaves his position of community manager > UbiSoft begins the process of choosing a new admin > Raymiles (RaymilesPrime) rejoins and apologises for his misbehavior > Raymiles e-mails old members asking them to rejoin > Rexy and GoldfistBB rejoin—Rexy made a few posts informing the members of how she was doing but left again shortly thereafter; GoldfistBB still posts every once in a while August 2005 > Robocoddess and Raygirl are banned by an outsider (non-RZ) moderator for a week because of posts made months before > Rylm posts in the documentary about members being unfair to him; is subsequently made fun of by Raymiles and Xeiqu for repeatedly calling Hunchman 'His Highness', and also made a reference to Hunchman being God September 2005 > Robocoddess and Raygirl are given back their posting privileges by the moderators > Hunchman leaves in peace after all the members call it square > Many members thought info regarding “Rayman 4†would be released this month as it was Rayman's 10th anniversiary; this was later proved to be bogus October 2005 > UbiRazz is made moderator of Rayman Zone once again. He posts a welcome back topic. > UbiRazz creates a light-hearted competition topic in which we have to guess the name of his cat. Newray wins (a toy lum among other things) with the answer, 'Maneki Neko' > The member 'rayda' joins the forums. Many people think that he is a noob beyond hope, largely due to the terrible quality paint signatures that he makes for members (they are so bad that they are first thought to be a joke), and useless messages. However, after some hard lessons, he eventually ends up as a valued member of the community > Rayman 4 is announced to the press at the relatively obscure 'Gaming Session 2005'. No English press are present, so members are left to translate the few French and German pages that exist. It seems that Michel Ancel will be working on the the game, making many members (considering Rayman 2 to be the most groundbreaking game of the series so far, and also being impressed with his latest ventures such as Beyond Good & Evil) very happy November 2005 > UbiRazz creates another competition in which people have to make him a Christmassy wallpaper. Matyuv wins, followed by AntitoonNato, and Yv0386-51. These three entries win a copy of Rayman Hoodlums' Revenge on GBA, and Matyuv's wallpaper is set on UbiRazz's desktop for the rest of the Christmas season. UbiRazz also sends every person who had a shot at it a toy lum December 2005 > FCY creates a mini-competition in which members have to create banners for the four forums, in order to make the place look a little more festive > Many members join in with the trend of Christmas competitions and create their own > Every file on the RaymanZone is deleted; the forums no longer work. Some fear a new hack, but such fears soon prove to be false and the site returns to its original state January 2006 > The member 'Dreyfus2006' joins. Bemuses many with his relentless atempts to create an official Rayman map, and somewhat unique personality > 3rd anniversiary of RZ > FCY, Bitebug and jasminam quit the moderating team, being tired with the community rejecting them under the grounds that they did not have much history with RaymanZone. AntitooNato, Newray, Pok2 and Xeiqu are appointed as the new moderators. Cyberscreen remains a moderator > Vip3rion (t3h1) joins the forums. Is well known to be the forum joker, along with matyuv > FCY gives matyuv a week long suspension for arguing with a moderator in their leaving topic > The leaving topic goes downhill; jasminam is forced to lock it > UbiRazz fixes the cencor, which was blocking any word containing 'ass' (mass, pass, glasses etc.), with the note "I R TEH FIX0R!1" > rbnikke starts a Rayman fan-game project, so members can help him create a Rayman game. The idea is a success, and an initial 14 dedicated members join, covering different design and coding stages February 2006 > FCY ends matyuv's suspension > Vip3rion is banned by the Community Manager of the Shadowbane forums for bumping his postcount with spam there > Vip3rion returns with his old account, 't3h1' > A day of confusion strikes the forums. > A new rule is created, banning the act of impersonating other forum members > The forums' first Official Chat Thread reaches 100 pages, meaning it's time for another one. Thus, the Official Chat Thread # 2 is opened. Hoot and Holler. > Xenon09 leaves to become a mod in another forum, without noticing that the forum in question rarely gets more than four posts per day March 2006 > A rumoured leaked document from Ubisoft says that Rayman 4 will be released in November 2006, and also that it will be on Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution (but not PS3) > The forums continue in a relatively peaceful, yet still active, state April 2006 > More to stick to good old Raymanzonian tradition than anything else, a few April Fools Day pranks are carried out with varying sucess. Tyzebug claims that Rayman 4 has just been released, although many were expecting someone to do so; and the moderators claim to have been granted full powers, allowing them to ban Raymiles (who organised it), and threaten others > Rayman 4 is announced by Ubisoft for the second time, although this time in a large press release. Much to the delight of fans, they confirm that Michel Ancel is leading the project with his Montpellier team, cite 'Holiday 2006' as the release date, announce that it will feature on next- and current-generation consoles, and express general satisfaction with the existing product. However, not a single piece of media is released. Most believe that the great unveiling will come at E3 > Monkeyhat replaces UbiRazz as admin. Monkeyhat remains silent > Acheval is also made an admin. Acheval makes a friendly welcome topic in the General Chat forum, and strongly hints that when a forum gets a new admin, it means that information is sure to follow. Acheval also explains that she will manage the US information, whilst Monkeyhat manages the UK > The moderators are given full powers by Acheval, and the forum header is updated to reflect this > Raygirl returns, much to the delight of some and hugs of others > matyuv and t3h1 are given a three week suspension for their consitent posting of spam and harassment of other members May 2006 > matyuv and t3h1 are finally banned permanently from the forums, after filling the Off Topic boards with spam. They are suspected of already having existing, undetected aliases in the forums, however > Ubisoft is rumoured to have registed the name 'Rayman Raving Rabbids' a week before E3. Most members mock this > Ubisoft actually announces Rayman Raving Rabbids. The general response is firstly of shock, but many gradually grow to be excited about the concept > A screenshot of Rayman 4 is leaked onto the internet through Gamespot. Ubisoft asks Gamespot to remove it, and the moderators attempt (but largely fail) to keep its circulation to a minimum > Excitement peaks as E3 begins > A new Rayman Raving Rabbids forum is added, with a new skin > A mini-site featuring two screenshots (one if which is the leak) is released by Ubisoft > The very first video is revealed just before E3, hidden inside a Nintendo Wii advert. It is very short, so people remain passive about it > A full blown trailer is released on the first day of E3. It features a large cinematic in which huge bunnybots attack what appears to be the teensie city. The video is met with an overwhelmingly positive response, many finding that they'd finally understood what Michel was trying to do, and loving the idea > More information about Rayman 4 steadily trickles in, including two new videos, an interview, and a press article. Many are very happy with what these reveal: that the universes in the game will be free-roaming and epic, unlike the linear style of the previous games > People begin to recieve emails from 'Ubisoft security', asking for mods to resign, members to leave, and asking Rb to terminate his fangame. Acheval tells the forums that there is no such organisation as Ubisoft Security, and calls for extra viligance. The emails slowly deteriorate in convincingness, until they are just a stream of foul language. The moderators try to locate the source of the emails, but to no avail > The Raymanzone Fangame Project gets started up again, boards return, and a site starts to be developed > Monkeyhat makes his first post, notifying members of 3 new videos at Raymanzone (one of Michel Ancel being captured by the bunnies, a E3 video, and an interview with Ancel and Xavier Poix). People attempt to welcome him in the topic, but he does not return to it June 2006 > ARZO announce their return, through the Pirate Community forums. They announce that they still want 'revenge' upon RaymanZone, and intend to hack the forums. This is largely disregarded as an empty threat by members due to the high level of security of the Groupee forums; however, ARZO are suspected of some of the recent forum attacks, such as the fake emails July 2006 > The Groupee database is offline for several hours, until the latest backup is put online, meaning that some posts are lost. It later emerges on Pirate Community that is was ARZO's doing > Information continues to flow in steadily about the sequel, mainly via interviews. A new member looks at the meta tags of the official website, and discovers various information about the game, such as the re-appearance of Ly > ARZO suddenly publicly disband, saying that they believed they had already destroyed the original RaymanZone with their first hack > The Moderators open the first of the periodical Rabbids-related forum competitions August 2006 > The forums are hit by a wave of spammers; these slowly seem to phase out, however > Scans from Nintendo Power Magazine are posted in the forums. There is some major content such as the first glimpse of Rayman's girlfriend, but these eventually have to be locked by Acheval due to copyright issues > Ogre's a girl > A member of the Kill RaymanZone Klan (KRZK) managed to log in as Newray; all the posts are deleted, the hacker states that the forums are defaced. March 2007 >RaymanZone was deleted again by the KRZK. >PianoMan creates many accounts and soon reveals his latest one two days after he joined in that account. Summer 2007 > Xeiqu starts the Rabbid Disownership Club, pointing out, that “Their gameplay, character design, and plotlines are all worse-than-mediocre, and they in no way fit in with any of the other Rayman characters or worlds.” Every active RZ member joins. >

Re: The phpBB RaymanZone Archive
I've not been to RZ in months, is it still totally dead?
