Raven_Guardian wrote:My favorite soundtrack is still Rayman 1
I thought the original theme from Pink Plant Woods was a little meh, and the Candy Chateau music didn't leave much of a impression on me, but besides that it has a fantastic soundtrack, especially music from the Cave of Skops and Picture City. The constant change of music in the game gives a different mood to the same area, like the darker music from The Dream Forest.
Raven_Guardian wrote: Rayman 2 had a pretty soundtrack too but Rayman 3 was bland (mostly the terribly unfitting "madder") with quiet few good tunes (land of livid dead, the fairy concil,...). Coincidence? Rayman 1 is also my favorite installment in the series and Rayman 3 my least favorite.
Rayman 3 follows Rayman 2's work. Rayman 2's music blends with the atmosphere extremely well (The Bayou, The Fairy Glade, Woods of Light) and Rayman 3 did it just like that. Perhaps even better. The music goes with the environment and adds atmosphere to it. Check these out:
Raven_Guardian wrote: Origins from my POV, had very good (chasing a dream, the tricky treasure) but also very bad (the forest, the songs of lums, ).
Rayman Legends is promising but I don't expect to be better than r1.
Rayman Origins had a great soundtrack, but because a lot of levels are based on speed, I felt like I missed some of it. It does have some amazing tracks:
I personally am not a huge fan of lum singing or wacky tracks but I do think they are what a game like Origins should have, and Ubi did a good job at it. I think Legends will have good music. I just hope it won't be too much rock.

@Spiral You thought in the same thing as me when reading Sergio's comment, wasn't it?

I've heard that many times for over ten years, and well, my heart seems to still function, my brain doesn't seem to have lost any functionality, so I guess I could say that I am still alive and well...not dead as a result from listening.

Spiraldoor, you're such a retrofag.
I would respect your tastes, but I see you don't respect mine, so let's have a little chat about it:
Just tell me. Point out what the hell is so outstanding about this song. I can't see it. It says "hey, I'm a fucking generic jungle" everywhere.
Seriously, I just... I dislike it in every single aspect.

Damn Sergio, I really do not find dull the music. It has a fantasy touch, that is harmounious. I respect your opinion although I can't understand the dislike.

What? If anything I absolutely loved the Pink Plant Woods theme. Each song that played through every world really stuck out at times along with the beautiful level design it's self, especially the forest noises you hear in Dream Forest, even though not being a song of course, it's extremely beautiful.
Rayman 1 had my favorite soundtrack of all time. Rayman 1 is still my favorite to this day, because not only did I have wonderful, fond memories of it, I can still play it today, and it can be extremely enjoyable, it was a very beautiful 2d game, Rayman Origins, heading back to it's 2d roots, didn't cut it for me, don't get me wrong, Rayman Origins was a fantastic game, but I feel as if it will never match up with Rayman 1.

Rayman 1's soundtrack is quite good, though I do agree somewhat with Sergiomonty, Though "First Steps" is well-made and catchy as heck, it has a somewhat generic-cartoon like quality to it, but it just makes the song all the more magical and full of whimsy. The soundtrack gets excellent in Band Land and perfection in Picture City and The Cave of Skops. Candy Chateau has a topsy-turvy screwed-up Carnival feeling to it that is infectious. R2's soundtrack is pure excellence, like Woods of Light and the Precipice, the funk style tracks like The Canopy and the Shell riding scores, and the errie tracks in The Cave of Bad Dreams. R3's soundtrack is kind of meh... with the exception of LOTD, Hoo Doo's theme, The Fairy Council and Curious Globox. RO's soundtrack was great and had tons of variety. RL's soundtrack seems promising, like Teensies In Trouble and Toad Story. At the Gamestop kiosk the RL demo features a trailer and the music played in it sounds like BG&E.

I didn't say that I disliked "First Steps" it is a very good track, and one of my favorites. I just stated it has a generic tone to it, THAT IS FULL OF MAGIC AND WHIMSY. Wait, as a matter of fact just forget I posted that in the fist place and let's start over, Okay. First Steps is great and I'm sorry that earlier I was talking out my rear-end.

Why are you backstepping? At what point did anyone accuse you of anything or give you reason to do this?

I was mistaken, you were making reply to Sergiomonty's post not mine, oh' well... this is embarrassing. I really was talking out my rear-end when I made that previous post. Let's just forget any of this ever happened, while I facepalm a while.
