well you can't blame them for suspending my account, i was made into an admin for no apparent reason at all.

hopefully they'll check the logs and see that i didn't do anything except post as normal.

i changed my pass in case the hackers knew it and made sure an RZ mod knew about it, i'm not sure what other action i could have taken really. with a little luck they'll unsuspend the account or at least unblock my IP. what with BG&E2 just being announced after not having a real Ancel game for 5 years this couldn't have happened at a worse time really.

It seems scandalous that they have the cheek to ban someone without reviewing the situation. There's no way I would stand for something like that, espeicially if I was in your position.

More to the point the fact that it was down to hackers seems blatently obvious to anyone with an IQ higher than their shoe size.

nah you can't just leave a dangerous account like that open what with all the trouble they've been having, and from their point of view there's no reason i couldn't have been a member of arzo or whoever the hell it was this time. but hopefully as soon as they do investigate things a little further they'll find out what happened. then again, ubi haven't really shown themselves to be the most competent of forum managers so i can't place too much faith in that situation, why the hell they're still using grue pee after all this trouble boggles the mind. i complained about it to kleaneasy but she said that 'there isn't any other forum software capable of supporting a community as large this' and then gave me a load of lip about how i must be an idiot to think that they hadn't considered switching, which is the biggest load of nonsense i've ever heard really, just look at all the huge forums out there which have nothing to do with eve.

phpBB.com supports a similarly large forum.
Both have over a million posts. What Kleaneasy said was utter nonsence and was used as a slapstick excuse to bottle out of things, I suppose. Was Thunak this bad? (my memory of 2003/04 is faiding slowly)

I don't think I'm supposed to post this, but as users of that forum, I think people deserve and have the right to know what's going on.
From what little information I've got, I don't think the guys over at Ubisoft knows what's going on much more than you do, except it's a hack. Kleaneasy's account was deleted by hackers. Mods and managers alike have lost their accounts to the hackers. The rabbid-forum was also the work of hackers - They made it, and this and other things make me believe these guys are familiar with the Rayman-community, at least, as I guess this is pretty much what we have been wishing for. Ubisoft has taken it down, and hackers have been putting it up again, which is why it's been flickering on and off, I believe, and I believe all post information in the previous rabbid-forum might be gone forever now (good riddance if you ask me).
They are now trying to clean up the forums, getting rid of some, merging some etc. The Rayman-forum will be left pretty much as it is, though we'll probably have the rabbid-forum back eventually (unfortunately).
As for banned members, the hackers have also been banning people as they feel like, and I've been restoring a couple of accounts, though I'll have to be a bit careful in case someone were in fact rightfully banned. The situation with managers and admins seems to be chaotic, and it hasn't been excactly easy for me to get a hold of them and ask what to do. Sometimes they don't even answer IMs. I'm a bit irritated at that, but they seem very busy right now, and I really can't blame them.

Xeiqu, I've taken a look at your account, which says you have been banned for, and I quote: Involvement in disruptive forum activity. As far as I can tell, you've done no such thing, and this note might as well be old, it's not dated.
Also, you being made into an admin was the work of hackers as well.

Edit: Kleaneasy's account has been restored, it seems. I guess they are slowly solving things.

Edit edit: And I also have to stress that I know very little. This is what little I know and some errr... educated guessing and assumptions made from what info I have.

I've just checked RZ, and your admin's account doesn't seem to have been restored... Anyway, the problem isn't to know who did it: several members posting in this topic already know it alright. It's just that it has proved us for the umpteenth time how poorly managed these forums are.

yes, there was a 'software issue' which presumably caused gruepee to become sentient and then delete an admin and the rabbids forum and give a bunch of members super powers, of course!! such things happen all the time, i'm sure.

when do i get my bloody account back, anyway? if kleaneasy's going to keep up this pretence of a software issue then it begs the question why i got banned because of it. if limely's reading this, give us an update please... they definitely have forum logs which they can use to check my (lack of) actions, they used them last time there was a hack. i don't see why a bunch of other members who seem to have been made admins by the hackers didn't get banned. this whole thing is ridiculous.

Eh...Ms. K is a liar. I'm a little ashamed myself that she lied to the whole forum about the hacking. She told me directly about it in MSN, so why couldn't she just admit it to everyone else?
