You have no idea how much this just made me laugh. Electoons shooting Mr Dark in the balls. Genius.

I was thinking in the same thing.

Anyway, while I'm still writing the story, here's a drawing I did that reveals this game's main enemies.
Not robo-pirates, not hoodlums, not rabbids, not livingstone pirates (that's what it is in Rayman Legends, right?).
But samurai fish from space.
And boy, are they serious. But so is Blue.

This doesn't mean the game is gonna be Japanese-styled at all, but the fish will be and so will the level linked to them.

His hair oh my god, it's so... beautiful.

I really can't get over how fucking good his hair looks!
Very, very well done.

I hope the game will have this sketchy style, it's much more appealing than the previous one, that was a bit pale.

Thanks again everyone!

Can't wait to finish the script so I can reveal some more stuff already
Haruka wrote:Droolie, I love how well it captures the oriental style!

Thanks! That's what I was going for ^^
There will be one level like this in the game too (the level linked to the fish). The enemy fights will feel the same too, especially late in the game. In the beginning of the game, there's some kind of dreamy and eerie mysteriousness around them (much like the atmosphere at the beginning of the incredible movie Spirited Away), that gradually turns into this "heroic" Japanese style as Blue gets stronger while the enemies get more and more aggressive.

Thanks a lot! I see you noticed his new hairstyle. Which I'm definitely keeping as it looks gorgeous indeed - especially in 3D!
Bloodgrey wrote:I hope the game will have this sketchy style, it's much more appealing than the previous one, that was a bit pale.
Yeah, I'm definitely not keeping that style. Either the game is going 3D (very probably), in which case I'll do my best to make it look as close to my drawing style as possible (either a more realistic look or sketchy like here), or the game is staying 2D in which case I'm probably going to use that kind of artwork in the game.

Double post, but it's Record Day.
As it's Record Day, have a quote from the script of the first level:
The moving wall painting behind you will change into a bunch of happy electoons. The lights will turn on, revealing that the creepy shadowy boss has turned into a big fluffy smiling electoon plushie. Awesome. The normal electoons have also turned into plushies, just lying there on the ground. Now, the big electoon plushie will speak. Its voice is a happy and melodious voice.
“Wheeeee! You did it, you did it! Harmony is baa-aaack! ♪
Impressive, impressive! And… and… (urgh… what rhymes with back?)
Anyway…
Now, the Great Protoon will come and heal your sorrow. ♫
Now, the Great Protoon will come
and prepare you for a new tomorrow. ♪”
A hatch opens right above the electoon plushie.
“Wait there, ‘kay? He’ll be here in a second. ♪
Two. ♫
Three… what’s keeping him?”
“Wait?
• I’ll be patient…
• Something’s not right here…”
And a quick sketch I did which shows Blue and something else you might recognize in the very first cutscene in the game.

Yep! It's supposed to be the one on the left here:

It's not drawn well though as it was a sketch, just meant to illustrate the environment description in the script a bit.

Oh lol, I forgot to reply in my own topic

Thanks a lot Rulzez!

I didn't think that sketch was very good though (just posted it because it was Record Day) especially in comparison to the pretty nice drawing I just did (click the thumbnail to check it out, it's big)

(extra extra extra large poster version here:

So yes, this is Prhys. Where Ly was told to be from in information from old Rayman 2 sites. And yes, this is the queen, called "Alya".
Here's some Dreambound lore.
Prhys is a land floating in the sky. In Dreambound, all inhabitants of Prhys are female, partly catlike creatures. "Ly" is a name for any normal inhabitant of Prhys, whereas "Lily" is a girl ("Little Ly") and "Tily" is a toddler ("Tiny Ly"). Both letters "a" in "Alya" show that this is a very, very respected person. And maybe the most enchanting person in the world.
But she is rumoured to be much more than that.
Why does she have five tails instead of one? Does she really control the sun? What
are those eyes of hers?
And what is that crescent moon-shaped stone she holds in her claws?
Answers will be given... in the script that I'm taking so long to write. Oh come on, Droolie, hurry up and finish it already!
*goes on to write the zombie chicken part of the game*

Woo, five more percent!
I really like that artstyle, it's so Greek. In fact, this concept sounds like it may have been based off of some Greek mythology. Whatever it is, it almost resembles the look of Legends, if you know what I mean, which is great. Lots of amazing story possibilities here!

You're right, it does resemble Legends in a way! I hadn't made the connection before

I guess those 6 years of my Latin-Greek study influenced my imagination quite a bit so it's no surprise it looks like it's based on Greek mythology.
RayFan9876 wrote:Lots of amazing story possibilities here!

Yep. You'll see you're completely right about that!
