Like, I legitimately thought her gender was bug and I’ve been calling her by They/them this entire fucking time!

Is "bug" even a gender though?

I mean. Gender is a construct.

Well, Wikipedia defines it as "range of characteristics pertaining to, and differentiating between, masculinity and femininity" (the word is also used to refer to biological sex, but obviously that's not the concept you're referring to). "Bug" is more like a category of species and unrelated to those.

But I'm hijacking this poor thread, sorry about that. Maybe I did it unconsciously because I don't like the animated series? We can always continue this discussion someplace else!

Very interesting! The name of "The Pancake Shack" just makes me think of this one fanart for some reason.
