Way better than Minecraft. Then again Minecraft just ripped off LEGO idea from start and also Infiniminer. Of course the original will be the best. Glad to see this game is made, now finally we can have true building game.

Unless you're playing with someone Minecraft is the definition of a boring game. Even in creative mode there's not much to do.

I hope this new LEGO game completely destroys it so we can finally hear an end to Minecraft. This is what we've been waiting for, for years. A game where we can build endless possibilities with endless features. It's true you could build whatever on minecraft but you were granted with such a limited editor.

I seriously wonder if some players are interested in this game only to “end” Minecraft.
I'm afraid though that this game have already had a little influence on the game industry. Seeing that, five years after its release, the Lego Company launches a game that everyone agrees to call a… Minecraft-like.

Whatever, it sure looks cool! I'm looking forward to the exploration part. Even if the game seems entirely dedicated to the creation (giving an actual editor rather than games mechanics to build), those environments made of Legos look pretty! :3 I hope the generation is great enough to offer interesting expeditions.

And Sonic 3D, WoC (As OCG noted above), Crash Twinsanity amongst others. They coined up and have developed all the games with the now standardised LEGO game formula. So they've been at this for a while, if you watch gameplay of Lego Worlds, you can still see their formula in place, despite the far more open and creative direction.

I've seen gameplay of it, and while I do applaud the creative capabilities endowed, I'm somewhat concerned about other driving forces. It seems more like a toybox with some light exploration aspects, than a fully fledged game with defined objectives and causes. I'm more than happy with what's on offer, but I hope that they add more adventurous inclined elements to really give MC a complete run for its money. Other than that, I'm really impressed with the creative tools.

Lego worlds does look interesting, and I have no doubt it's going to be good providing it's actually worked on and doesn't fall into the sadly common category of early access games that its released as early access then development just comes to a standstill because it's already earned enough money to be a profit than if it completes development as a full game, who knows though, this is actually the first time I've seen a larger publisher use early access on steam, and the game is at least in a more playable state than most other early access games.

Anyway, speaking of Lego, let's go back to Bionicle because that's what this topic seems to have evolved into. Lego and Bionicle.

Recently me and Haruka were talking on skype about our history with bionicle when I brought up that the year I bought my first set. 2004, was also my favourite year of the original run, one thing led to another and we struck a deal, Haruka was willing to sell me the majority of her Metru-Nui collection to get the money to be able to buy herself the rest of wave 1 of this years sets. Recently the third and final package -which even contained some non-bionicle bonuses as a thank you- arrived so I decided I wanted to show you all my new collection of Sets from the year that got me into Bionicle.

Granted I believe out of all the sets I bought from Haruka, the only one I actually owned growing up were Vahki Vorzakh.

Actually I have to say I really love the 2004 Toa build, I think they have the best balance between looking good and being good action figures, in comparison to this years figures, which I do love I think they're great, which seem to be a bit better at being ornamental figures than action figures.

I didn't just buy sets from Haruka, I also bought some collectibles, namely this Vakama toothbrush, I also got a DvD of Legends of Metru Nui which I spent a night watching through with a friend who had little to no expierience with Bionicle prior to this, and I loved it, my friend on the other hand was spiritually confused by the end of it, but that doesn't matter.
Also, you might not be able to tell by the photo quality but that letter in the photo that came with the last package is actually written in the matoran alphabet, and I'm not gonna lie, it was a ton of fun to actually translate it into the English alphabet, by the end of it I actually know a lot of the matoran alphabet characters off by heart (granted a lot of them whe you look closely are just heavily stylised English characters anyway but it still felt amazing!)

As I said Ialso got some bonuses in the last package including these Rabbid and Combat of giants ornamental figures, which are great, as well as some stuff i didn't take photos of including two happy meal toys, 2 disney activity centre games, Toy Story 2 for PC (which was actually a really pleasant surprise because I actually owned that game way back when on ps1) and the Painkiller Collection which are was also a pleasant surprise seeing as I've been looking for an alternative fast paced arcadey shooter, after playing so much Brutal Doom for the two weeks my internet was down.

All in all really happy with my purchases, and actually really glad I could help Haruka complete wave 1.

I just want to correct you wanted to mean "Metru Nui" at a point, not "Mata Nui" .

I am very happy to see that everything arrived exactly in the same state as I shipped and that you are equally happy to own them. As you know I only wish that you take good care of the figures/merch as I did all this time.

As for the gifts, it was a way to express thankfulness for accepting the deal and I am also happy that you liked them!

I personally did not feel quite identified with the Metru Nui storyline/sets back in 2004 hence why I did not do the effort to get all Vahki and all the Toa Metru. I think it was when BIONICLE started to lose mystery, a very important element that made me get really into this franchise back in 2001. Anyway, I did not want to fully sell my Metru Nui collection so I only kept Toa Vakama, Vahki Rorzahk and an official blue shirt also from Vahki Rorzahk. Talking about that, Vakama is currently assembled side to Rahkshi Guurahk on my desk to serve as maneuverable decorations . I like to alternate the figures that are assembled on my desk and change the pose from time to time.

Needless to say that my favourite BIONICLE year was the first. The Toa Mata were simple figures but yet very good-looking and fun to play with. The Rahi were a bonus too because they had lots of pieces and could be used for plays involving Toa VS Rahi combats. I also love the mystery around the Year 1. The following year was also very good, the Bohrok are equally amazing enemies. I loved the rolling-ball concept along with the Krana (kind of a brain for laics) discarding. However, I am not as fond of the Toa Nuva as I am with the Mata in terms of design but this is a matter of personal taste. In terms of story it was a good follow up of the previous events. As for Year 3, I think it is where things started to get awkward for me: although Year 3 had excellent sets (I love the Rahkshi, the main Titan sets are also very good) the story gave a lot to desire. There are a lot of things that do feel wrong in the Mask of Light movie that I only noticed them last time I rewatched it.

Back to the initial subject, as Builder said it was thanks to that selling that I managed to collect the whole Wave 1 of BIONICLE 2015. It was a sudden decision because I admit that the episodes, some browsing in the official website, watching BrickBuilder's YouTube channel (I recommend it to everyone that enjoys to see someone assembling LEGO sets) with his accelerated buildings and figuring out around a month ago that one of my classmates also grew up with LEGO BIONICLE and has got an impressive collection and knowledge about the franchise lore, my interest to collect all the figures grew but the only obstacle was really the cost it would involve (the figures are much more expensive than the original sets but then, there are more pieces and the inflation factor... ).

I really had lots of fun assembling them all, it really feels good after so many time (without counting the Tahu, Protector of Fire and the Lord of the Skull Spiders purchase of February/March) without buying/building a new set. Even the smell of unboxing a set is still identical to the smell I remember to feel in my childhood (LEGO fans do know it is very unique)! I am even planning to purchase some LEGO Classic bricks for free assemblage in my free times whenever I am in the mood for that kind of creativity (which reminds me to next time I visit my grandparents, to look for my old bricks and bring them home). I guess LEGOs are things that I will always love no matter how old I am they really came up in my childhood to stay in a place on my heart.

Looking to the Toa it really gave me a nostalgia feel. For me these 6 will always be the true heroes of BIONICLE. These new figures have something really great which are extra joints, something it sadly lacked in 2001. I like them all in general although I think they screwed up with the new Mask of Jungle. The original Kanohi Miru was really good and this new one is...................... right.

I have knowledge of the Wave 2 sets and they are disappointing, especially the Skull Scorpio one that I think it is the worst of them all. Now the Mask Maker VS Skull Grinder, that's definitely a must have once I have the chance to buy it. As for the others I am not planning to collect them at this moment.

And to finish this post, I will share here a finding I did in the place where I bought almost all the remaining sets, a Piraka Vezok real-life statue! I got impressed to see a 2006 character in plain 2015:

I want to update this a little. A few weeks back I went to look for the Large LEGO Classic box in a shop but it was sold out. They had the XXL box with 1500 but it was really expensive and I don't think the box was a plastic one like the large box. I ended getting the Medium LEGO Classic box plus a big card box of Creative Supplement to have around the same number of pieces as I would have with the large box I planned at first so I have around 900 pieces for the moment.

The good thing in the current Classic sets is that you have a bigger variety of colours and they come with a brick remover (why this did not appear in my childhood? it would have saved my old bricks/technic parts from bites!). The problem is that in terms of piece variety is a bit limited, as you can see in the Goomba I tried to do:

Once I visit my grandparents again I need to bring my old bricks to have extra parts for my builds. I will consider getting more 2 smaller creative supplements in some months to get around 600 extra pieces with more uncommon colours. If I am right I should get close to 2000 pieces in total.

I feel really lucky to have managed to find Turaga Vakama in such a great condition and with intact instruction panflet plus card box, he and other Turaga are usually expensive and difficult to find complete like this:

I also managed to fix Piraka Hakkann's eyes by getting a new piece. Mine seems to have a defect in one of the connecting metals to the battery because even by replacing the battery it was not working.

To finish, I got LEGO Worlds in my birthday (thank you, OCG!). Although there are sharp edges to be sanded, the game looks interesting so far. You explore a random island and you can build anywhere. Looking forward for more developments!

Hmm, I still have my old LEGO builds, the one I showed off a few pages ago. We donated all our loose LEGO to our cousin though. Though perhaps one day I might consider getting into the LEGO building game again, I do want to see if I can rebuild some of the old mechs from the Exo-Force series.
