I'm also disconnecting right now. I think I didn't reach 400 posts, but I still think that's a lot. Right now I have 3.03 ppd, and before starting RD it was around 1.1 ppd.
As I said, it was a fantastic event to spend our time together. See you around
You did a great effort on RD. You deserve a big rest.SilverLum wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:27 pmI'm getting the double vision thing now, but 40+ hours is more the danger area for hallucinations. That day I tried to sleep but I really just could not sleep. I wanted to try sleep most of the day and get up late, but I woke up at like 10AM after about 3 hours of sleep or something. I stayed in bed for hours but I just could not sleep. Also yeah, the hallucinations did happen a little while I was looking at my screen, such as seeing things at the corner of my eye moving when there was nothing there. It's strange what our bodies do.SilverLum wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:19 pm that's the weird thing about it! Your body just kicks back into gear after a certain time and you find it hard to sleep afterward. But 47 hours, that's a whole other beast. How long did you sleep after that? Did you hallucinate?

Re: Eighteenth edition of the posts in a day record
I believe at one point I had like 80 ppd because of how ridiculously active I used to be here. Even now I apparently still have 15.98 ppd despite the fact that I was dormant here for a while.
Also yeah, beer ftw!
Glad you enjoyed the event, see you around also.

Re: Eighteenth edition of the posts in a day record
Well guys, it was really a pleasure to spend this record day with you! I had a lot of fun, and I'm glad that we reached a very decent score without sacrificing the quality of our interactions.
I truly enjoyed getting to know some of you more, just as much as I was pleased to see familiar faces with whom I share fond memories.
I'm sorry that the server crashed for a bit; from what I understand so far, it's an unfortunate coincidence not even directly linked to the increased activity of record day, but PluM was amazingly fast to get it running again and I guess this is just one more memory we'll keep of this lovely day.
I want to thank you all for participating and making this a success. Without all of you guys breathing life into the community, I'm sure the fandom would have vanished off the internet a long time ago. But here we are, still going strong, and this serves as a heartfelt reminder of what awesome people this place is lucky to count as its members.
See you around, and to many more record days!

Re: Eighteenth edition of the posts in a day record
Hello again, Raypeople! Hope you had a great night!
Congrats everyone! And special congrats to Jonster for that epic result and all-nighter!
We were really numerous this year, it's truly a sight to behold!
Well, while I didn't beat my record despite this being of my most active times, I'm actually proud that this was achieved without sacrificing the quality of my posts.
Unlike what I achieved in 2018 where a good chunk of the interactions took place in some of the "spam topics" we had at the time and that are now locked or long-forgotten (I remember the "Come up with a name for Rayman 4" one going a bit too spammy for nearly everyone involved at some point for example, and I was also to blame for it
).
So yeah, as Hunch said, we really did great while not going for the easy spam, and I really share his sentiment when it comes to talking to everyone of you!
To many more record days!

It can be relaxing, but I wouldn't recommend doing it to the same extent that I do most of the time as it gets my brain going so much that it keeps me awake for hours! In fact, my night went horribly (though it was less because of that this time and more because of... a "pesky presence"
) and now I feel somehow even more tired than I was yesterday.

You put the thoughts I formed during the night about this phenomenon into words! I think that would be the most logical reasoning about how this works.SilverLum wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:27 pm I think perhaps this is a survival tactic. Thank you both!SilverLum wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:32 pmSo this really is a common phenomenon! That sounds like a relaxing way to wind down! You have a good night saturn!Rayman Saturn wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:25 pm I'm gonna go now and write down a few ideas for my novels since I couldn't really do it during RD, and then hopefully fall asleep quickly enough!
Well, see ya everyone and have a great night, we'll talk again tomorrow! It was a great time!![]()

Oh yeah, I really do imagine how terrible things must be going in the body by that point... Even during the longest nights of being awake I pulled off in the past (which weren't that long either by comparison), my body started to feel broken in ways I would have never imagined...Steo wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:28 pm I will be honest, it didn't feel good at all. You start feeling horrible in ways you didn't even realise were possible after being awake for so long, and even become moody etc. My stomach even starts feeling sick from lack of sleep, so overall it was an awful experience. I was still happy to have done it though for the forum.![]()

Re: Eighteenth edition of the posts in a day record
Thanks for the kind words, Rayman Saturn! I'm glad that the feeling is mutual.
I have just updated the record day compilation topic, should you want to compare our performance with that of the previous years, and we'll take care of handing out the rewards very soon.

I could have sworn I posted every 30 minutes. I was up the entire time, is there a way to still achieve it?

Re: Eighteenth edition of the posts in a day record
I needed some rest after Record Day, I ended up K.O. even after 5 hours of sleep
What can I say, it was a great, fun day in RPC. I'd like to congratulate all of the participants from yesterday, and specially to Jonster (or Jade
) and SilverLum (the coolest Rayman), who didn't sleep at all and did a great performance. Now they deserve a panda rank, I guess
. It has been a pleasure to have interacted and to have gotten to know the people of the community a little better.
Beyond the participation and the good times, I consider a very positive thing that the Rayman community is still so active after so many years. I think it is something incredible that a saga that has marked us all so much is still active precisely thanks to us, but not only for yesterday, but for being there every day, either by organizing events, making fangames or contributing in some way to expand the knowledge of Rayman in the Wiki. Hopefully, RD had motivated many more people to participate more in the forums.
Finally, I would like to thank Hunchman for the effort to organize this event, and Plum. I think little has been said to your credit last night, but you certainly saved the event at the last moment. What a beast

Well done everyone, and congratulations Jonster for the win and all nighter. I was glad to participate in this year's event and talk to some nice people.
That's a shame, I wonder if at least one of the posts was more than 30 apart? It would be annoying to lose out on it by literally seconds...SilverLum wrote: Sun Aug 27, 2023 12:47 pm Oh dear, I didn’t get the all-nighter bonus… I wonder what I did wrongI could have sworn I posted every 30 minutes. Re: Eighteenth edition of the posts in a day record
For some reason I really had it in my head that she did, but when I look at the compilation I can see it was 5,000, which is still impressive, and more than I would post in an entire month even when I was highly active. I don't know why I had 22k in my head though.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 10:26 pm Wait, Serza got 22k on her own?I had forgotten / not realized that!
