Gong Heights is the easiest music level. ._.
And no, Band Land is not difficult.

Bongo Hill is quite an ass to get through, I dread going through it every time.

Interestingly for me it's totally the opposite. I heared many people are strugeling with Bongo Hills, while that's for me a piece of cake.Haruka wrote:Gong Heights is the easiest music level. ._.

Gong heights is a pain anywhere but in the GBA version. -_-Haruka wrote:Gong Heights is the easiest music level. ._.

Band Land is difficult for me, due the abundance of ice physics. Dream Forest and Blue Mountains are the easiest areas for me.
Bongo Hills is harder on the console versions, but on PC it's quite easy.
Also, for taking no damage, are we talking with or without saves? With saves, I could probably do it with them, without them, definitely not.
If I gave a shit, I could probably get through all the bosses without taking damage, Mr. Skops being the hardest to do without taking damage.
Re: Rayman 1
I never beat R1 on PC past Band Land. I was stuck on dark area of Bongo Hills in 1997 I believe and I never touched PC version besides testing GOG.com release and emshomar's patch. R1 for PC is my least favourite version and besides exclusive Band Land segment, I cannot find any positives.

Re: Rayman 1
The Atari Jaguar and GBA versions were worse in my opinion, but the PC version is still a pretty sad port. In my opinion, the PlayStation version was the only good one. The Saturn one was OK, but the SFX and backgrounds were ruined. The game also runs in slow-motion on the Saturn.OldClassicGamer wrote:I never beat R1 on PC past Band Land. Re: Rayman 1
Hm, I didn't find Gong Heights to be that difficult at all, barring that one jump to the ! sign at the end of the first level, it's not bad, and I love the oriental-esque music the area has.

Re: Rayman 1
Just like our PAL Rayman 1 for PS1. Tech, that's just because of the 50/60hz difference. The NTSC version may run in normal speed.technology4617 wrote:The game also runs in slow-motion on the Saturn.

I'll try it again, but I own the NTSC version and I remember it running more slowly than I'm used to.emshomar wrote:Just like our PAL Rayman 1 for PS1. Tech, that's just because of the 50/60hz difference. The NTSC version may run in normal speed.

Apparently, the PAL versions run more slowly, according to emshomar. I'm used to the NTSC versions, that run at the proper speed.OldClassicGamer wrote:It runs fine in my opinion
Re: Rayman 1
I play NTSC-J Saturn version since PAL version for me has issues if you put it on fullscreen (game crashes, and plus, Haruka and Stace confirmed that game tends to hang during gameplay). NTSC-J version seems not to have any issues except a few graphical one and crash after Mr. Stone battle but that crash was only for me though.

Re: Rayman 1
Since PAL runs at 50 hz and NTSC runs at 60, running a PAL version using NTSC emulation will result in the game running 5/6 the speed, and running a NTSC game using PAL emulation will result in it running at 7/6 the normal speed, etc. You shouldn't need to change the game version, as all good emulators should have a region feature you can change built-in, including ePSXe

Re: Rayman 1
I've only played the NTSC versions of Rayman (with the exception of the PC version), but even on console (NTSC on NTSC), the Saturn version still seems to run more slowly. I'll double-check once I get the TV set up, though.Adsolution wrote:Since PAL runs at 50 hz and NTSC runs at 60, running a PAL version using NTSC emulation will result in the game running 5/6 the speed, and running a NTSC game using PAL emulation will result in it running at 7/6 the normal speed, etc. You shouldn't need to change the game version, as all good emulators should have a region feature you can change built-in, including ePSXe

This image is so ironic. It's says 'Well done' while itself isn't well done

Erm about the Rayman 1 PC version. I dont know if this is the right place to post this but, I run Rayman 1 with pSX v1.13 and the music track is all screwed up. The music plays for that one quick second and stops. Anybody know how to fix this? I run XP...

Use ePSXe instead of pSX v1.13
Credit goes to Haruka for tutorial. It helped many people, including me.
