That happened to me as well when i was using the official Samsung keyboard on my Tab. Samsung software lag like shit.

Swype is cool indeed, though Swype-to-type is actually included in Android 4.2 and above.

Typing on tablets is of course better than on phones because you can clearly see which button you are pressing with your finger, while on your phone you can barely see it. Physical keyboard of course are far better than any touch keyboard, i once even tried to connect my keyboard to my tab with success, typing went a lot faster than usual.

XPERIA Play does not support Android 4.2. Any reason why? Is phone outdated?

I'm sure you're talking about official updates, but what about custom ROMs? :) You can try to root your phone and put a custom Android OS on it.

First tell me your phone model number.

Well, if you want to update to Jelly Bean and the like, you'll also need an unlocked bootloader, seeing as the Xperia Play never got an official JB update, thuse, you'd need to flash a custom Kernel as well.

Good thing that in this list on the left side, your phone was the one before the last, and i had to scroll through the whole list. Though i could only find android 4.0 for your device, which you can download here: http://get.cm/get/jenkins/7100/cm-9.1.0-zeus.zip
You have to install it this way:

0. If you haven't already, unlock the bootloader and flash a custom kernel as master said ( don't know how to do it howewer, google it for further info )
1. Put the zip file on your phone's sdcard root directory.
2. Boot into recovery ( don't know how you can do it on your phone, usually by pressing and holding the power button, home and volume up button at the same time, and after the boot logo appears, release the power button ( if it doesn't work check for other solutions )
3. If you have already flashed clockworkmod while rooting, first make sure you don't get in trouble and make a backup. Select Backup and Restore and select Backup.
4. After that, you can select Install Zip from SDcard ( or something like that ) in the main menu of the recovery, select the downloaded zip file and wait for it to install and you're done.

If it doesn't work, like the phone doesn't boot, or is stuck in a boot logo loop, then restore from the backup.

If you got your phone SIM free, Sony has an official site that'll give you the means of unlocking the bootloader, see here: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
If you got it tied to a carrier, you'll have to resort to less official means, I think there's something called the Test-Point method, you'll have to look it up, if that turns out to be the case.

I just wanna let you know I bought the Sony Xperia Z because I softbricked my HTC Desire HD. I wanted to setup cyanogenmod on it.

Hm, what happened exactly? Did the ROM not flash correctly?

Yes, the installation went well but when I rebooted my phone, it was stuck in a loop (where the HTC screen shows up). As I've still access to the fastboot, I think it is not definitely broke but I have no idea how to save it.

Did you make a backup before flashing? If so, you should be able to boot into recovery by pressing a certain key, then restore the backup.

Did you wipe your data before or after flashing? You must do that, or else it will get stuck in a bootloop. Even if you bricked your phone, i guess you can still restore to stock by flashing the rom somehow or simply unbrick it, Here is a tutorial on how to do that.

OCG, can you tell me how did you record your sega saturn gameplay? Fraps doesn't want to record it.

Apparently ePSXe has got now the version 1.9.0. I've downloaded it. :D

1.9.0? I am not sure if I will get it since I configured all shaders and HD Features on previous version. Could you tell me if 1.9.0 has some drastic changes? Can you try Rayman 1 on it without mooby plugin? I know emulator psxfin does not need any plugin to run music in Rayman 1. Perhaps ePSXe 1.9.0 improved it
