She was probably being sarcastic.

Though to be honest I imagine more people use the name "Mr Dark". ^^

I rarely see that as a user name though. I always see something with the word "Shadow" in it. When there's dark in the user name, it's mixed with some damn RPG crap. People can be so unoriginal.

I think it was better than your current one, but that's just my opinion.

Megaman Discussion

Post by Rayfist »

New screenshots have recently emerged for Mighty no. 9, discuss if you wish. My impressions from the beta demo are actually very eh, being a huge Megaman fan it doesn't look like anything spectacular but who knows, maybe Infaune will surprise us! :mryellow:

I don't blame ya for missing it, as it was in two words, try a partial match, like "mega" and add a "*" at the end, so "mega*" for instance.

Well I'm stupid lol. I searched but couldn't find any, ah well. Thanks for moving it Master.

That being said, yeah Badguy, Megaman 2 is a good one to start. Some people however prefer the X series for it's more fast paced, fluid gameplay. It plays the same as classic Megaman just a lot more fast paced. Also Master you can remove my post starting the thread, was kind of pointless since I missed this.

I've not been keeping up with Mighty No. 9 lately, kinda dropped off my radar after the kickstarter.

There was some drama that occurred with the community manager being incredibly hasty to people, I think we're far past that now.

I've been slowly keeping up with it as well but decided to catch myself up. The gameplay demo honestly looked very meh, which surprises me considering how much I love Megaman, it didn't really show very much, just basic run and shoot type gameplay which is great and all but I was quite honestly expecting something more that had $4 million put into it...

How did I not see this thread before?

You're goddamn right it doesn't look like anything spectacular! Gameplay-wise it looks like the classic series but with a running speed that I would describe as "between Megaman 7 and Megaman 8", which is not a good thing. The dash ability does not seem to add any dynamism to the mix, instead it just looks like a "obligatory overkill", for lack of a better term.

Art-wise, it seems to be more inspired by the Megaman Star Force series and Powered-up, which is a personnal faux-pas, but that will be the least of my problems once the game is out.

It's was good to see that, in the trailer following the "incident", nothing had changed in look or feeling. So, yeah, we're past that now.

Megaman 2 is a good way to start, though I prefer Megaman 3, but oh well. I'm more of an advocate of the X-serie, but it may be preferable to start with the classic serie, then move on to the X-serie because once you taste the delightfulness of Megaman X, you can never go back.
