Well, I'm sure if you took the time to show them how shopping online works, I'm sure they'd be willing to grab you a copy.

Also, Rayfanboy, I don't know what part of the states you live in but it's pretty difficult where live to find copies of any Rayman game for the PS2. Not impossible, but I can safely say I've only seen Revolution in a shop once and it was in bad condition. I have not, however, actually gone out and looked for a copy of it. I'm sure I could find it with ease if I looked for it at a retro game shop, the problem is finding a retro game shop in my area.

Good luck with that. I was lucky to even find a single copy of the game at a V. Stock store. Honestly, the Rayman games are some of the hardest to find, with the exception of Rush and Raving Rabbids, and maybe R1, too (in my experience). Not to mention that once you find a copy or two of, say R2, you better buy it quick, because the games sell quickly (once again, in my experience). Hopefully, you'll find a copy, though.
Rayman games are pretty difficult to find in retail portuguese shops aswell. So far I never found the Rayman Origins PC version on the shelves for example. But strangely enough these also disappear pretty quickly. I remind when I wanted to buy RRRTVP, but 2 months later I nevermore saw it in the shelves.

I tried pressing the start button and going back to the game awhile back, but it never really worked. Guess I'm unlucky. Anyways, has anyone else had a sound glitch in The Masrhses of Awakening in the PS1 version in which all of the music and ambience quits playing? That always annoyed the hell out of me.
I should try to play it again and confirm if what I'm saying is a fake memory or not, at least I ensure this works for Rayman Rush.

Rayman games are only hard to find on the PS2 if you're looking for used copies in stores. When R3HH initially came out, my brother scratched up and broke our disc before anyone could finish the game. I wasn't able to get a new copy until about '09, and that's because we finally got around to actually looking for a replacement disc. It took us 4 tries at stores to find a working copy of the game, but we did find it. You just have to look harder.
Once I was lucky enough to find a used PS2 copy of R3HH, still with the original 3D cover and everything in near mint state and surprisingly cheap, but I think I was lucky. Althought our countries aren't the same I really recommend you to find for Rayman games on eBay or Amazon if you like. If you are searching for rarer Rayman stuff, you can definitely give a look to the French eBay where sometimes you can find true gems.

Rayfanboy wrote:Really, what country do you live in? Here in the US the Rayman PS2 games are quite easy and cheap to find. I haven't seen any at flea markets or retro game shops locally in some months though, but I snatched up Rayman 2: Revolution and Rayman 3 for quite cheap at a shop called GameXchange in my area. You can find good deals on Amazon.com and eBay. Right now I frequently see copies of Rayman Arena for Gamecube for sale at most places. I still need to find RRR for PS2 though.
I live in the US too, but it's hard to find Rayman games. Maybe it's easier in the part of the US you live in? Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough? Either way, here even if you find a copy of one of the games, they fly off the shelves pretty quickly.

Hopefully. I think I'll ask them about it eventually, once I can't take it anymore and I have to play the game.

Agreed. It's so hard to find the games here, where I live. Also, finding some kind of vintage store/retro store/etc. is pretty hard here. There is this one vintage store at the mall that pretty much sells everything ever - not literally, of course, but they sell quite a lot of old crap so it's automatically my favorite store ever - but I couldn't find Revolution, and I was very lucky to find one copy of Rayman 3 lying around. Rayman 2 is easier to find on the PS1 in that store, though, but I'd rather have Revolution, on the grounds that the PS1 version is pretty much the worst version. It's still good, I own the PS1 version, but it's still the worst console version, and that's a fact.

I guess the games disappear pretty quickly, because they're either kind of popular, or everyone knows how hard they are to find, so they scramble to buy the first copy of, say Revolution, they see. I'm not to sure all I know is that once you see a copy of a Rayman game that's usually not seen in stores, you have to buy it as quick as possible before anyone else can get their hands on it.

I should play it again to check myself. It could be mine that's simply even more glitchy, but I don't know for sure.

Yep. Amazon has both the Dramcast version of Rayman 2 and also Revolution, so I'm really starting to think that I should maybe go on Amazon some time.

The games disappear pretty quickly PROBABLY because people actually like them. They're games that I feel withstand the test of time. Why would you want to give up something that plays just as well as it did years ago?

Anyways, good luck on finding a copy of Revolution. I'm sure you'll get your hands on it soon enough.

I wouldn't say so for the Portuguese case as far as I'm aware. I do know that Rayman used to sell a lot in Portugal back in the PlayStation 1 days and in the beginning of PS2 days but after he seems to have fallen in forgetfulness. In such way I believe that the lack of findable copies is related with the marketing of Ubisoft Spain since it got responsible for the distribution of Ubisoft games here since around 2005. I believe its also linked with the companies that buy the games, who don't seem to bet in Rayman but more into Mario and Sonic who are much more popular franchises in the country in the platforming genre. The few shops you have more chances to find a Rayman copy is in Media Markt and FNAC.

I like this idea; it's probably worth a shot! :) I enjoy browsing OCReMix from time to time, always hoping there's either a new Metroid or Rayman remix, but I usually end up being disappointed. It is an awesome source for music regardless!

If anybody is interested, I did a 300dpi scan of the Glade of Dreams map. It would be more perfectly done if I had an A3 scanner, though.

Nice :)
Was that map exclusive to Rayman 2 or something?

It was exclusively released in PC and N64 game copies of Rayman 2: The Great Escape.

I thought it was exclusive to the N64 version of the game, but I guess not.

PC copies also included this map. I think you can find some around the internet.

Which is funny, because I have five copies of the game (most were gifts) and only learnt of the map and manual when I came here.

Thanks! It's of great quality!
