Hm, the first main series Rayman game to have bundled online modes, interesting.
It sounded more like 'leaderboard' online than actual 'gameplay' online, but it's more than nothing.
Ah, so akin to Rayman 3HDs leaderboards? Hmm...

I thought the first Rayman game to feature online leaderboard was... Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.

Unfortunately, that game doesn't deserve to be considered part of the Rayman franchise.

Sadly, it is. But it had some nice minigames though...

It is. It doesn't matter if you're a rabbids hater (like most of the forum).

I personally had no hate against the rabbids themselves. The problem, however, was the relationship between them and Rayman. You basically have this limbless hero that has saved the world more than twice, faced robo-pirates, hoodlums, knaarens, ghosts, spiders and many more nasty creatures. The idea of him fleeing from rabbids rather than fighting them was a silly move that should've been ignored.

Guys, the relationship ended with the release of RRTVP. Rabbids Go Home isn't part of the Rayman series anymore, and the same applies for the Rabbids games released after.

I think Rayman was fearful of them because... well, Rabbids are too stupid to feel pain, and no matter how much Rayman punched them, they would get up again for more... And considering the amount of Rabbids compared to Hoodlums and Robopirates, woah, Rayman possibly had the hardest time with the Rabbids.

In my headcanon, Rabbids simply left the Glade because they didn't have anything to do with it, then they went to our earth to cause more troubles. It's the only possible way to make the whole thing canon, considering that "Rayman and the Rabbids will meet once again".

I prefer to say that all the Rabbids games took place in an alternate universe to the one that the main series games are set in, it's just personal canon, as I don't like the idea that Earth exists in the Rayverse.

Although it is not 100% clear, back in the golden era of Rayman, Rayman was already interacting with humans in Rayman Dictèes, so the human interaction in RRR2 DS isn't a novelty (in this game's ending he talks with reporters concerning about the Rabbids invasion, I think this is the bit that was "missing" in the Wii game). I know both games are spin-offs, but I think the facts shouldn't be fully ignored.

Suddenly, Mario Parties, Karts and Tennis are canon.

I'm not saying the games are canon, I'm just saying that some details shouldn't be fully ignored.

Do you ignore for example that Tings are tiny fairies inside the spheres?

Each to their own, Tings were never really that identifiable, and they've disappeared from the Rayman universe completely Post-Rayman 2, RO replaced the ting with the "common lum."
Perhaps one could "cross-pollinate" these ideas and say that the fairies within the tings were in fact the lums from RO, just a suggestion.

Don't worry. I'm quite certain that a specific set of two fangames will set this right.

I don't really care about whether or not Earth is in Rayman's universe, as long as it doesn't butt into it. There's enough human- and Earth-based games and ideas out there already.

As for the Rabbids - as long as they no longer mess up Rayman's appearance, it's fine by me that they continue on. I can see how a specific audience can find their humour amazing and I'd like Ubi to keep that audience happy if they can. And who knows - maybe Rabbids games selling well means more budget for Rayman...?

Rabbids games have been deteriorating in quality, mind you, but, fellow members say that their merch is improving, so, that remains to be seen.
I'm not a Rabbids hater, just to be clear, I've enjoyed playing Rabbids games in the past, the problem I have with them is simply Earth and the portrayal of Rayman.

I personally recommend a lot the Rabbids comics released so far in France, I honestly think its their beach and should totally stay in there and getting out of the gaming market.

If the "Rayman vs Rabbids reunion" is supposed to be a single level in Rayman Legends, then I'm fine with it. If it's a full party game... *sigh*

No doubt the reaction to such a thing would be rather hostile...
I wonder though, what's next? When Legends is released and Michel (hopefully,) finishes Beyond Good and Evil 2, what direction will the franchise take?

I do believe Ancel is informed that there is a fanbase on his back screaming for another 3D Rayman. We can only hope.
