Happy birthday to all five you! I'm surprised how four of them are well-known members.

I think he just said Danks for the lulz. Just how I say Arigato in English sentence which I do sometimes. Same with Konnicihwa and Sayonara (used in every video I make at the beginning of video and at the end).

I'm quite familiar with the term, emshomar. Just as OCG stated it's just for the lulz, well sort of. I mostly prefer "Danke" over the English term.

I think every person knows what Danke means. Even if they never learned German. This reminded me of past when I was learning it in School but I don't speak it well. Take Japanese people learning English for example. After school if they don't try harder, they will most likely not know it since in school they were mostly learning spelling and grammar. Same can be said for my case with German. I had a good marks from German only because I was just learning grammar and other stuff for test. I am ashamed of that fact. I know how to read it but speaking and understanding not at all.

Doesn't sayonara mean 'farewell' (as in forever) as opposed to 'goodbye' (as in I'll see you again some time)?

It is often mistaken for that but it is actually equal to English Good Bye.

*Equal.
Anyway, who are we saying good bye to? Or is this mere conversation that I should have had the wisdom to look up before making this post?

Unless you've always used it wrong and have insulted people or made them sad, leading to their depression and eventual suicide.
