I thought you were smart enough to use a third-party YouTube Player or to download the videos.Joshua822 wrote:Arrrghhh... must not... smash computer... because of... Youtube giving... errors...

But those errors can be solved by selecting another quality, or by clearing the cookies.
Re: Rayman Origins
Thanks for the tip
I usually just boot into another operating system, but clearing my cookies will be a lot less work, of course

It's a point of view, not a vendetta. Not pointed at anyone. Not refering to specific people or topics, only to statements, besides I didn't track that who was saying what and where, I don't read many topics besides this one, because there's no interest for me from them. Therefore it's no reason for me to get butthurt by others taste, and I advice you to just do this the same way. It's my oppinion and not a beef, I accept, but I don't agree, that's all. Don't be such a drama queen, please.Bloodgrey wrote: I felt I had to express that. And to be honest I won't care about any arguements if any would head up against my toughts. I'm not for argument this is not something, that I feel worthy to argue about. You understand me and agree, or not, and deny.
That's all, I welcome the first group, I can't do a thing with the second besides acceptin them and their thinking.
I still think 2D owns.
Like I said I'm just not getting in this arguement it's just not what I'm for.

Re: Rayman Origins
Something I just realized: In Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge, Rayman claims to have known how to use the Helicopter "[his] whole life". With the current canon, that wouldn't make sense, as he gets the power in Rayman 1. But with Origins now in place, it makes perfect sense. Of all of the plotholes that RO has caused, at least it's filled in one.
On a related note, Rayman mentions that the Helicopter was "just a little something [he] picked up" in the animated series. But with Origins in place, that doesn't make sense, as he's had it since he was born. Thank God that the animated series isn't considered canon, or else this might have been a pretty bad plothole.

Not everything Rayman says has to be true, you know.

Re: Rayman Origins
Probably not very interesting or important, but I've just noticed that despite all the talk of 'slapping', Globox is the only one who slaps anything in the Origins trailer. Rayman's attacks are always either a kick, a closed-fisted punch or a closed-fisted spin attack.

That IS interesting! You're right! Ubisoft have been lying again!
That said, maybe we just don't have a good view of his hand, or it's the way they've drawn his hand. etc...

Re: Rayman Origins
After reading your post I went for another look, and it seems pretty definitive - his hands have definitely been drawn as closed fists:Jewish Candy wrote:That IS interesting! You're right! Ubisoft have been lying again!![]()

Punching

Spin Punching (1)

Spin Punching (2)

Kicking
He may not be able to throw fists, but seemingly he's still pretty good at throwing punches

Ah, you are right. Tut tut tut to the devs.
I actually prefer the punching mechanic, so this is good for me.

Re: Rayman Origins
It doesn’t really matter if Rayman’s hands are open or closed; he will still attack with the same ‘slapping’ mechanic as Globox.
This game will have a button that causes Rayman to helicopter when you press it, regardless of whether he’s on the ground or in the air. When he’s on the ground, the helicopter’s wind can be aimed in any direction, presumably with the analogue stick or directional buttons. The wind will be able to blow enemies or create air currents for Globox to fly on. Globox will be able to do the same for Rayman.
I inferred all this information the first time I watched the trailer, but I didn’t hear anyone talking about it, so I thought it was about time someone brought it up.

Re: Rayman Origins
I really liked the look of that in the trailer. Throughout the series, there are loads of things you WISH you could've done with Rayman's abilties (surely he could throw his fist to grip onto ledges if he's falling, etc.), and the helicopter thing was one of them. It looks like it'll function like 'grimace' in the original game, sending enemies off (or their clothes
) but not defeating them.
the 'Rayman 4' trailer had Rayman using so many of those potential skills... fuck you, Ubi.

Re: Rayman Origins
The mechanic will surely be the same, but in fictional terms having Rayman punch rather than slap does gel nicely with the rest of the franchise.spiraldoor wrote:It doesn’t really matter if Rayman’s hands are open or closed; he will still attack with the same ‘slapping’ mechanic as Globox.

All of that seems pretty likely. I'll be interested to see how they work the air current/helicopter hair into the gameplay.
