Ice cream cake is good but it depends on the flavor, frosting...Also if your party's inside or outside. Wouldn't want it to melt...
I can see how some people wouldn't like it though. When it melts it gets messy. Really messy.

Yup, and also really sticky.
I think I'd be ok with ice cream cake if at least one of the two elements is chocolate.

No but why would I want soggy cake and ice cream together when you could eat them at the same time but separately

Yeah I think this is accurate. Again I haven't eaten these kinds of cakes for a long time so you're probably right! At least I've eaten them though!
