Except for some billionaire towns such as can be found long the Mediterranean coast or in the Alps, and Saint Barthélemy of course, some cities can be expensive but nowhere near Paris. It's a very centralized country.

I lived in central London, so maybe it wasn’t as nice where you were.

I was mostly referring to central London, it did not seem to escape the big city curse back then.
