Wot. I'm sorry for you man... I've had that once or twice with non-art related things, but the feeling's much the same. Maybe GIMP has an autosave feature you can employ next time? I'm glad you don't have to CTRL+S to save stuff when drawing in pencil... that would've sorted me a long time ago if that were the case.
But maybe when you come back to it, to remake it, you will find you like the newer version even better! Just remember to save frequently.

++ My mom is going out to party and shiz tonight. Now this is a double plus because

+ My mom is going to a party, something moms-of-two don't do very often, and the last time she did I was about 8 I think. Or 9. Probably 9. And she's also staying over, which means that due to her no-alcohol-at-all-if-I'm-driving-within-5-hours rule, this is the first outside glass of wine she's had since...idk 10 years or sth

Like I said, she doesn't party often.

Hmm... this is strange. When I saved my project before this happened, GIMP crashed, but saved the picture. However, the background layer was gone. When I saved it again, crash, and everything was gone. But in the preview, the picture seems to be completely fine and it says 3 layers. Just that when I open it, there are no layers. What is wrong with this computer? I should check it out on the other one.

But at least the sketch was done traditionally, so I don't need to redraw everything. But the non-tablet technique I use for linearts takes a fair amount of time.

- I fear my mother has become engulfed by the problem which a large number of British citizens appear to posses: Being overly patriotic when it comes to sports tournaments. Being the cynic I am when it comes to televised sports, hearing "COME ON YOU TWO YOU CAN DO IT" almost constantly gets highly irritating after a while.

+ I've been having a rather significant confidence boost in the past week due to a few great friends, and because of that, I suddenly don't feel so useless anymore. Goodbye depression, the exit is down the corridor, two doors to your left.

+ Finally got Interac for my debit card, and now I can pay for things online myself instead of having to give my brother money and having him buy it.
