Re: Rayman Origins

I might be getting a PS3 b4 RO comes out. Thank god for my B'Day being b4 Ro. AKA, 7th of October.
I don’t think he abandoned the bubbles. The series simply hadn’t been coherently established until now. I expect to see bubbles in every future Rayman game. The Real Rayman wrote:It's possible Polokus abandoned the bubbles for that reason, it's impossible to tell for sure at this moment though. We'll just have to wait and see. However, I don't think Polokus was making lots of spiral doors to connect places in the Glade of Dreams after leaving the bubbles behind. Polokus created the Teensies to "unveil all the roads in the world" - so, it would've been up to the Teensies to make spiral doors. We know Polokus was able to make spiral doors, but the only spiral doors we saw him make were used to return me to the Hall of Doors. If he was constantly making them himself, why did he create the Teensies in the first place?
We are told that Polokus ‘slept’ or went ‘away’ for ‘many years’. I think there is a good chance that Polokus will create the Masks, Sanctuaries and Guardians at the end of Rayman Origins, tell Ly what to do in the event of an emergency and then go to sleep. This would mean that the indeterminate time between Origins and Rayman 2 is the period of ‘many years’ we were told about. This might contradict the idea that he created time after falling asleep, but that’s so vague and abstract; it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine that his creation of time was also retroactive. However, I think the most likely possibility is that Polokus will be asleep from the very beginning of the game. He is referred to as ‘the Bubble Dreamer’, after all. He dreams things into existence through bubbles. Rayman has to amuse him to ease his nightmares. That means he’s probably asleep. The Real Rayman wrote:But there's an important continuity error that hasn't been mentioned yet: after Polokus created all the inhabitants of the Glade of Dreams, he went away. The Knowledge of the World in R2 states: After having created all the creatures who live in this world, a harder task remained: creating time. So, Polokus went to the place where all the gods of all the worlds meet, and together they set about dreaming up the future.
That's what Polokus would've been doing before the events of R2. I hadn't found his masks yet, so during RO, Polokus wouldn't have returned yet.
Still, Polokus is clearly seen in RO. So I think it's safe to say Ubisoft has ignored part of R2's lore and trying to make theories to explain Polokus's presence in RO is... well... sort of pointless.
Nobody said it was a reboot.stan423321 wrote:Seriously, it was said it is a reboot, which means they will bend the canon.
Oh, maybe I wasn't clear enough, but I actually was responding to this:spiraldoor wrote:I don’t think he abandoned the bubbles. The series simply hadn’t been coherently established until now. I expect to see bubbles in every future Rayman game.
I was simply saying Sergio's theory (Polokus was an immature BD at first, later he changes, becomes more mature and abandons the bubbles) is possible. Reading my own post again, I think I should've worded it differently.sergiomonty wrote:Also, there's a simple explanation for the absence of the bubbles in later games, in a preview it says that Polokus is accompanied by some fakirs that try to turn him into a more serious god because he acts like a kid. This is what I think: He's a god, he can do to his world whatever he wants when he's dreaming, and he can create things with the method that most amuses him, so it looks like he likes bubbles now, but when he turns more mature, then he will get bored of them and start using the spiral method to make connections across his world because he finds it more interesting.
Yes, Sergio said that as well and I agree, it's not unlikely to happen.spiraldoor wrote:We are told that Polokus ‘slept’ or went ‘away’ for ‘many years’. Yes, that's possible too. Or maybe Polokus was just continuously dreaming up the present in my tree house before he went away - it's said that he went away to dream up the future.spiraldoor wrote:This might contradict the idea that he created time after falling asleep, but that’s so vague and abstract; it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine that his creation of time was also retroactive.
I completely agree with this. I've always thought the BD was asleep during RO, creating things with his dreams.spiraldoor wrote:However, I think the most likely possibility is that Polokus will be asleep from the very beginning of the game. Indeed. Even though it looks like there will be minor contradictions between RO's lore and the currently established lore, RO won't destroy the canon. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time some continuity errors appeared in the Rayman series and I think it's nice Ubisoft has created new, interesting aspects (such as the bubbles) instead of bringing nothing new to the universe.spiraldoor wrote:Nobody said it was a reboot.
All prequels bend the canon. So do many sequels. Reboots don’t; they destroy it.
LOLsergiomonty wrote:guys, you misunderstood me XD I actually LOVE sssssam, I made a fan art of him a long time ago, remember?
But I'm talking about the relationship between Rayman and Sssssam. Ssssssam seems to be the typical "office partner that tries to be your friend in a lame way". He's always so alone and nobody seems to like him xD and he's such a crybaby. In rayman 2 when Sssssam says "good-bye" it's SO AWKWARD, he's like "promise me that you will come back soon, I feel alone Q_Q " and rayman is like "uhm...ok....it's a promise ._." and never comes back XD Sssssam is so funny because, imagine that Rayman, Globox, some teensies and Clark have a conversation and then appears Ssssssam screaming "HI GUYSSS!!!!" and everybody is like "oh shit, no, here comes sam, stop the conversation and talk about stupid things because nobody here likes sam, fuck you sam!! fuck you!!" (Reference to steve from bowser kingdom xD)
I never thought about it that way, but you're right.Haruka wrote:I like both Polokus' forms. It is interesting how he has got the shape of the same species as Globox in Rayman Origins.
But the drawing was signed by Imês HarukaHaruka wrote:I think you say that because Polokus is most seen as a 3D model, although there is one concept art with him.
I don't find him that hard to draw: http://haruka-tavares.deviantart.com/ga ... 4#/d1q1qp5
The drawing is a bit old by the way.
Sorry... was it Imêz then?Haruka wrote:Congratulations for typing my name incorrectly by the way.![]()
I don't signature my drawings with my nickname.
you're right, but remember the electoon medallion in some gameplays, it's not only for cages, other things tooThe Real Rayman wrote:Sorry... was it Imêz then?Haruka wrote:Congratulations for typing my name incorrectly by the way.![]()

By the way, I read your post about the nightmare you had this night and I saw something very strange in the YouTube video you posted. Go to 0:57. I and a Teensie are fighting a Baby Dragon Chef, and when he dies, he releases Electoons! You'll have to pause the video quickly to see it.
Actually this doesn't make sense at all.spiraldoor wrote:It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine that his creation of time was also retroactive.
