On the subject of the OST, I like the general sound of the piece, but I think the mixing should be altered a bit, especially the violins. One thing that the original did that I enjoyed was making each instrument sound defined and prominent, rather than blend together in a more general tone. Essentially, I like the sound of the instruments better in your new OST, but also think that the mixing was far superior in the original, which was also my main quarrel with the Conker: L&R OST as well. Also, I liked how the sounds of the drums in the original version sounded like hand drums, rather than orchestra drums, since I thought it captured the Jungle environment better.

Also, one quarrel I had with the original soundtrack was the looping sound of each song, since they were not designed to sound like never-ending songs, but, rather, normal songs on an iPod's repeat setting. One thing I was hoping to see implemented on the new soundtrack was more natural-sounding looping, or even interactive audio (e.g., a certain part of a song will not play until a certain amount of HP is knocked off in a boss fight).

Just trying to help! :D Great start, though!

I'm sure it is helpful. The looping idea however is perfect done in Rayman Junior, i may upload a track for you to hear how it should be done.

I think I know what you mean, and I think the problems you have with it are the exact same ones that I do, and I'll be trying my best to fix those. The only thing I disagree with is the note on the percussion, as I think they sound a lot more authentically African, loose and jungle-esque now, as opposed to the generic samples used in the original.

Just to be clear, I was comparing the new OST to the Conker L&R soundtrack, since it also had better instrument samples but didn't have as good of mixing. I realized I made a massive typo that made my post unclear, but I'm pretty sure you understood it anyway though. :P I edited it in case you were confused.

I have a few questions.
For Haruka: Where did you find Rayman 60 Levels, and where might i be able to find it?
- I have both Rayman Gold (i torrented) and Rayman Forever (from GOG) and when it comes to the mapper (raykit), the same thing happens for both:
i get download maps to play on Designer, and when i export them onto the mapper i get "Cannot create directory" and followed by "an unnamed file was not found."
Am i supposed to have them in the same folder as the other Designer maps that came with it, or is it a different problem altogether?
I got the maps from this site: http://www.kmgassociates.com/rayman/maps.htm
the files for JUNGLE are in mp1 which is weird, and even weirder, the MUSIC level files are mp2s.
- also, every time i download the GOG version of Forever (because that's the only version i can find,) AVG Virus Protector says there is a trojan found in the mapper.
i also get a trojan alert from GOG's Rayman 2 as well, so something tells me that virus protectors are probably racist against anything from GOG.

Then why not try this? It includes Rayman 60 Levels, is free, and is a fuck ton of a lot better than the GOG.com version.

Fake alerts, already solved on GOG forums ages ago. Try Rayman Mega Patch (that one does not report virus), and for Rayman 2, turn off Anti Virus when you install it, and after installation is done, turn it on again if you want to.

I didn't find the game anywhere. It was included in the 100% Malin re-release of Rayman Collector that my mother brought me from Paris back in 2004, so I happen to have it legally.

If the problem is the one I'm thinking, then I advice you to search in this forum for emshomar's Rayman Mega Patch. It pretty much fixes a common error that happens to many people when using Rayman Designer's Mapper.

Did you purchase the game from GOG or did you download it illegally? If it is the last option, try to read the details that the antivirus tells you. Sometimes my Kaspersky was complaining that my Rayman 2 executable (and Rayman Legends' one) was malicious so it was being moved to quarantine. It was silly so I reprogrammed it in order to exclude the alert from both files.

I bought the GOG version, since it was pretty cheap anyway. but none of that really matters now, because i got the Mega Patch last night, and needless to say, I am very pleased!

Sorry if I feel the need to say this off topic. But I just defeated Space Mama without dying; for the first time ever!! I'm really excited about this because after so long of R1 kicking my Larsen, I think this is a milestone that I'm finally becoming good at Rayman 1! Or at least adequate. Maybe someday i could join Haruka on the ranks of epic too-pro-ness.

You have quite the challenge ahead of you after you surpass Haruka.

This is in order from worst to best!!! Though all the above players are good, obviously.

1st level of supremeness: Haruka
2nd level of supremeness: Adsolution
3rd level of supremeness: emshomar
4th level of supremeness: me
5th level of supremeness: Rayrobi

Beware. :bad:

Do you have the skills to.be

We all live...
In a Rayman world;

I wanna be the greatest master of them all!;
The greatest master!)

Sorry. I had the need to put a twist on the song that this conversation had reminded.me of.

Technically Jaxxckle is the world's best Rayman 1 player, but he's not on RPC. ;)
