Re: Ninth edition of the posts in a day record
Hm, I'm vying for an all nighter this year. And my activity prior has been at an all-time low, so I'm hoping to give it my best.
Re: Ninth edition of the posts in a day record
I'll be here for the first seven or eight hours, but I will most likely leave after that.

Count me in, like last year!
EDIT : Only 4 hours before the ninth record day! Here are some memories from the last year, taken into the depths of the thread related to the previous RD.

Re: Ninth edition of the posts in a day record
I would love to attempt an all-nighter, but its not possible, though, since I was diagnosed with diabetes, I've never been able to stay up all night, so i'll probably end up going to bed at four.
That is if my internet can even stay active all night, because plus net is a piece of crap.
I'll try my best though.

Re: Ninth edition of the posts in a day record
Reminder about the definition of an all-nighter :
Hunchman801 wrote:Just to clarify this matter, bonus Tings will be awarded to those who stayed active during the entire record, safe for short lunch and shower breaks. Roughly, this should translate into no more than 30 minutes between two posts. Whether it's fair that those who had to leave because of unavoidable circumstances do not get this reward is an irrelevant consideration, as these bonuses reward performance, not merit. An athlete who broke their leg two days before the Olympics will not get the gold just because they could have won.Adsolution wrote:Normally, an all-nighter is regarded as skipping one sleep cycle entirely, and in Record-Day terms, we could safely assume that means spending your time you use to sleep to post instead. Sleep is essentially a recreational, non-obligatory exercise we practice to retain our health, and due to its difficulty to avoid, should be rewarded in a contest like this.

I'll try to pull an all nighter but god knows how long that will last, Serza if you're here, expect to win this year, or OCG if he's in the competetive scene, hehe

Re: Ninth edition of the posts in a day record
I'd like to remind people of this :

As I am in no where near as bad of a state as last year (I came back from a trip so I was knackered, still managed 3rd spot despite sleeping). But this is the one to beat.Hunchman801 wrote:As promised, here are the final results!
The record was once again beaten, with exactly 19710 posts these last 24 hours, thanks to 72 participants!
Here are the individual results:
1. Serza5 3359
Re: Ninth edition of the posts in a day record
I have no doubt about that, which is why I didn't bother mentioning it. If I remember correctly, Rayfist and you slept around 5 hours each last year, and you still managed to reach insane amounts of posts.Serza5 wrote:I'd like to remind people of this :As I am in no where near as bad of a state as last year (I came back from a trip so I was knackered, still managed 3rd spot despite sleeping). Another information worth noting!
If I'm correct, there are only 3 people currently members of the 3k club, the club where people managed to score more than 3000 posts during a record day. Reaching 1000 posts already requires some dedication, reaching 2000 posts requires most people to stay awake up to 20 hours during RD. The 3k mark has only been reached by the gods of posting, and a little folk who arrived one month before being an all-nighter and challenging the god-tier posters :
- Serza5 (3359 posts).
- RayFist (3199 posts).
- OldClassicGamer (3002 posts).

I'm still ridiculously worn out from last year, next year I'll try to beat that, but I'll just be posting for fun today.

2 hours 40 minutes left (I'm going to take a later nap so I can prepare XD) and I'm going to be on all night (well until 6pm to 3pm THE NEXT DAY!) Going out to buy 50 cans of Red bull, wish me luck

I had a girl visit me and a lot of work this week so I'm incredibly tired. I'm going a take a nap now cause I still plan on pulling an all-nighter.

There's a milk shortage here, kinda hoping there'll be enough for an evening cuppa.

Re: Ninth edition of the posts in a day record
Haha, best of luck. Though 1000 isn't too hard, I can assure you, I managed it in my first Record Day, and I wasn't even following any specialised agenda.
I'm hoping to break the 2000 barrier at the least this time, seeing as I'm not dealing with any significant distractions.

I hope I'll beat my previous record during the time I stay here.
