Ubisoft or Ancel? I will always believe what he says over Ubi.

I will totally trust a random guy who never worked on any Rayman game way more than company in charge of his games.

Well, Ancel never said it was reboot. I believe if he wanted it to be reboot, he would say it himself. I mean, rebooting franchise is a big thing.

I posted this but I am surprised that no one reacts. This is good news I think.

Probably is, but I don't really care atm for two reasons:

1. No matter what the game has, I can't play it unless it gets a console and/or a PC port.
2. Kung Foot is already available in Legends which I can play whenever the heck I desire, so this news really is nothing special to me. I would have never known it until I've managed to try the game myself and could have still lived a happy life. 8)

In a nutshell: The game about which we already knew that it mostly uses recycled content of Legends is announced to use even more recycled content of Legends! YAY! I guess.

The only way they could make it interesting is to finally implement online multiplayer into it, which will probably not happen, but who knows?

I totally agree about all of what you said but, that's all we have for now to play, before a possible future new Rayman game. :oops2:

I'd rather just do some other stuff and/or try other game/non-game franchises than forcing myself to pay attention to something of a particular franchise which I do love, but has little to show me atm.

That's partially the reason I joined this forum in the first place and also the same reason why I haven't played any new Sonic games since 2011.
I should thank Sonic though because I got to know a lot of stuff in the years he was/is away.

In other words: I WON'T play it, just because "that's all we have for now to play" if it doesn't interest me and the name Rayman on it is certainly not enough reason either.

I'm not saying I'm hating it, I'm just biding my time, because I don't really care about the manieth UbiArt Rayman game in a row (including mobile titles, that is).

By recycled content from Legends, you mean "Actually using Legend's underused level concepts to make fun and unique levels" right?

Underused or not, I've still seen it before yet I must agree that Legends indeed had a number of locations which would have deserved more relevancy.

Look, I'm just voicing my concerns here. As awesome games Origins and Legends were, I've had my fun time with them and I'm more than ready for some new and fresh adventures, but with the emerging of Fiesta Run and Adventures I'm starting to get worried that I may not get another 3D Rayman game for another 10 years or ever, or not until at least 3 more UbiArt styled Rayman games get released.

Rayman Tales in 2016, Rayman Toothpaste Case in 2017 and Rayman Candy Armory Run in 2018, one of them being a bigger game while the other two being mobile titles simply reusing the "bigger" game's content.

I wouldn't worry much about another 2D Rayman, I think that's completely out of the question looking at sales and the general reaction to Adventures. Ubi knows they can't just do another game like this, and I think Legends was as good as it gets - a third installment is gonna feel redundant. Rayman is still selling, but it's not a series that's got the popularity to pull that sort of thing, a new game really has to bring something to the table.

I'm just not sure what they'll do instead. I can see a 3D Rayman happening, I just hope it's not just an attempt to convert Rayman Legends into 3D and not actually change or innovate much other than just introducing mechanics 2D couldn't offer. R2 didn't just translate R1 into 3D, any future Rayman game should take same approach imo. That thing we discussed a while back about trying to turn the modern Rayman cast into an Adventure Time-esque world and cast, I'd love to see that.

oh and, [long text wall rant about the wackiness factor of Rayman Legends and how they can approach this differently without rebooting the whole thing]

Maybe the next game should have an actual story, like Rayman 2 and 3? :)

While I'm always the one to say that story isn't important for its the gameplay that matters most in a game, but I would rather enjoy a story with the Origins/Legends cast for a new 3D Rayman game. The characters seem just perfect for such a tale. And it would be a great opportunity to see their personalities fully flourished.

As for gameplay, I would really enjoy having not only having Rayman playable, but maybe we can get some Globox, Barbara, and Teensie segments/levels? Not only could it change the story a bit, but also add some gameplay that Rayman can't offer. For instance, Globox does have his Rain Dance and Plum juice "allergies", Barbara has her ax, and the Teensies have their magic. It would definitely freshen up the game.

Really I just want places like The Bog of Murk, The Fairy Counsil, Picture City, all the sanctuaries, etc, back in the games. I do like the new games being this nonstop train of excitement and action, but things feel really one-dimensional to me.

Y'know, that moment when Curious Globox plays and you check out the Fairy Council structure, or when it's raining in Picture City, stuff that makes you feel those feels and go "wow raman's world is so mystery n magic".

I just want a proper villain again, a real "end-of-the-world" feeling to the world again. Rayman will aways have it's magical quirkyness, but I'd love a new story to sink my teeth into.

Not so much mystery and magic, but more like it makes it feel like a world that's been lived in.

Or listening to The Bog of Murk at Night while gazing at the Hoodlums' airship things in the distance and wondering what the hell that plesiosaurish thing we've already seen at the very beginning of the game is doing in the skies. xD

My account got glitched up thus rendering a lot of my gems, potions, and costumes lost.

What's the point of living now... ;_;

Is my theory crazy? I think that Rayman Adventures is here to close trilogy and to see what sales it does, and that if it does good sales (it will probably), Ancel might consider again making a new Rayman on console to promote it more :P

This is plausible. RL was such a great game that it would have been hard to top that with a new one without it being too similar.
