Can't you download music illegally for free and put it on an iPod?

Of course you can, I said iPod was only compatible with iTunes, not iStore. The problem is that you have to use iTunes to download music and video to your iPod.

I have an MP4 player, but I have no idea what brand it is. It's just a sort of...generic...MP4 player. I like it. It has a radio. :)

My phone has a radio.

My phone has a radio, too. Anyway I tend to agree with Tobbe - with my old mp3player music was transferable with any music format, but with an iPod, the songs need to be stored in iTunes. Not good.

I tend to rip all the records I bother buying in lossless format, and iTunes will only let me rip my music to one lossless format, which is of course their own 'Apple lossless'.

My 30GB iPod died last autumn, but I'm going to buy a new, 120GB (or 160GB from eBay) for our class' trip to Berlin and Prague this October (won't survive two 12 hour buss trips without it). I'm definately not looking forward to re-ripping all my music to crApple formats and converting all my videos to iPod format. Unfortunately there are no other mp3/mp4 players with 100' GB capacity. :( (if there are, please, please tell me!)

I'd never be able to use up 100 GB on music, there's just nowhere near that much music I like. If I had an iPod with that kind of storage I'd just use it to backup all my PSX ISOs and stuff.

It's easy to fill up 120GB's; not with music (well, that too, if you have several bands entire discographies, especially if they are ripped in a lossless format), but with video.

I don't really care about ripping music from CDs into a lossless format because I haven't been able to tell the difference since my right ear went bust. I just rip to a max of 128kbps.

Good news and bad news. There are 160 GB media players. But you're going to flip the bill though.

About iPod and iTunes. You can use gtkpod or banshee. On a Mac you don't even have to use iTunes. An iPod is nothing more then a HFS+ formated external storage device. I hope Linux will soon have support for HFS+ partitions.

About filling 100 GB with music. It goes fast when you are at hobby musician community's, myspace and places like that. There's really good music around on those and then it goes quick, trust me. But sure, if you only listen to what's on TV and on the radio it's hard to fill ( and usually, music that comes on MTV is crappy. Rihanna, chris brown, uggh, barf )

Do you rip them to MP3. MP3 filters out what the human ear can't hear.

Oh, and it's possible to run Linux on Mac's ( PowerPC and Intel )

That is not technically true. Most people can't hear the difference, but for people like me, who have fine tuned ears after years of listening to music, it's really easy to separate music ripped in lossless format from music ripped in mp3 at any bitrate.

Yeah, MP3. But anything that's in stereo fucking annoys me because I can only hear the left channel when I listen with headphones. I've heard that you can get mono ones but apparently it's not so good.

I'd be completely lost if I went fully deaf, so I suppose I'm lucky I can still hear. It's one thing if you're born like it, but it's another to enjoy music for several years and then lose that privilege. :(

No offense but Futurama is one of the crappiest cartoons ever. It's not as good as the Simpsons.

None taken. I've already accepted that your taste is extremely bad. :)

Futurama is win. The Simpsons is also great, but I'm not as enthusiastic about it for two reasons:

1. The humour is not as intelligent as Futurama's. This is also the reason I'm not a huge fan of Family Guy.
2. The show has, to be honest, been shit the last few seasons, although the "Evolution vs. Creationism episode" is the most epic thing I've ever seen on television.

I'm not that big on it but no cartoon can be as shitty as the Happy Tree Friends.

Got a picture of what an eye like that looks like? Is it like the eyes of Toph from Avatar?

I've been like this since I was 16, and I have no idea on what was grounds for me to get the ear infection that caused it. All I did was just walk down the prominade in Great Yarmouth one night in August, and it was a bit windy but still. :confus:
