The other day I took a cool selfie pic of Razorbeard and 'I'.
That lil' room is pretty cool in the Hoodlum HQ.
I'll tell you something though, they did cock up the Razorbeard 'model'. He has 2 normal shoes and no peg-leg!

Ach, that's pretty stupid! I think they missed out some more things in that room. But for the general idea of even including it, they all get brownie points from me.

I've just noticed it now after replaying the Desert of the Knaaren; has anyone ever thought that it was weird how the Knaaren are invincible, yet you can beat Reflux - who has never been beaten by another Knaaren before - just fine? I for one think that it's a bit strange, and I would be lying if I said that it didn't bother me at all.

Well, lets remember that Rayman was not wearing any Heavy Metal combat fatigue inside the chambers. And you really don't hit Reflux, but yes on his sceptre core. It seems to be somehow linked with his body itself, making Reflux more vulnerable.

We had a discussion about this before, I'll see if I can dig it up later. It was said that Reflux is so power-hungry that he sacrifices his invulnerability for power. Indeed we see him doing this even more at the end of the game, right before our eyes.

True. But still:
Gumsi wrote:
(Freely Translated from German) Reflux is my champion, and no Knaaren was able to ever beat him!
The other Knaaren are supposed to be invincible, so how does he stand a chance against them in his state? Knaaren are unaffected by fully charged fists, which take away three life units, and Reflux' attacks all do less damage than that. Unless Knaaren are vulnerable to the magic he possesses, there should be no way for Reflux to even scratch them. And surely, you'd think that they'd be able to get in a few hits against him/his sceptre from time to time, which would ultimately lead to Reflux being defeated after a long fight.

Yeah but you don't actually KILL Reflux in that battle. Just a good few knocks. So it still is true to what they said originally

Still true, but you're missing my Point.
Let me explain my "problem" again:
- Reflux can be defeated (as seen in the game).
- The other Knaaren can not be defeated (as stated in the game).
- Conclusion 1: Reflux can not defeat the other Knaaren.
- Cocnlusion 2: The other Knaaren should be able to defeat Reflux ("a good few knocks", as you put it).
- Somehow, Reflux still managed to become the Champion of the Knaaren and go undefeated (as said by Gumsi).
So now my question is, how did he do that? It should be impossible for him to win against other Knaaren going by that logic.

If I were to hypothesise, I'd say that knaaren aren't invincible, they just have incredible stamina to the point where they seem invincible. Rayman, being the agile hero that he is, would probably die a lot faster if he weren't able to evade all of a knaaren's attacks in the first place. The heavy metal fist makes Rayman incredibly powerful too, say, almost as powerful as a knaaren, giving him the ability to actually do some damage to them (without that incredibly powerful modification, Reflux essentially is invincible). Combine the heavy metal fist with Rayman's agility that far out-ranks that of a knaaren's, they can't even touch him; he'll just keep dodging and picking away at them bit by bit.

I don't think they're invincible all the time, but, much like Reflux when you fight him for the second time, they can activate their invincible shields at will. Maybe all the other Knaaren are are really tense all the time, but Reflux doesn't have to be. Perhaps he exchanged his magic shield for strength through the Leptys.
Although it's weird how they can be killed with molotov cocktails.

I don't know if the Sentinel minigame can be taken as canon. After all, it's got Knaaren in the Summit Beyond the Clouds.

It can be also a game designer excuse to force players to not kill Knaarens.

Ah, the Knaaren invincibility issue, I do enjoy seeing the ideas that we all come up with to try and explain it. 'Tis a fun endeavour.

This shield...first time I saw it I thought it was kinda glitchy effect made by game designers to tell people: "Those are Knaaren. Don't mess with 'em, they are very nasty." At some point I even hated this teensie appearing and telling you to hit gongs so Knaaren will leave the place where you are.
The sound it makes when they are hitting you is also very awkward for the situation. But I remember that when I was 12/13 playing this game with a friend of mine, the Knaaren always scared the hell out of us. It was still the case when I played the game 2 years ago once again. "Argh, the saw me! gotta go fast, gotta go fast!"

Very well said. I think that hits the nail/Knaaren right on the head!

If you look at other animals, for example spiders, you will see that they affect each other as much as they affect others. Spiders make sticky webs. In order to walk in their own webs, each spider excretes oily fluid to its legs that allows it to travel around its own web, but only its own web. The oil is attuned to match the web that has their own DNA. Other spiders will get stuck in their web!
Similarly, I feel like Knaarens would be able to strike each other like as easily as one human could another, simply because of the power they can inflict with one hit (they smash through four-inch rock walls like they're paper for crying out loud). Even though they are near invincible to non-Knaarens, they are still vulnerable to each other.
And who knows how the Knaaren rank their champions? Maybe it's an unholy evil to activate one's invincibility shield as one is brawling for the title of champion in the arena before the King. Maybe they simply don't do that when they're duking it out together as an honour thing.
