No I did not play half life, I already told you.
They don't, the flood doesn't eat them either, else you would have zombies elites and other things like that? Its a virus that was contained in someplace and was released by accident. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasite_(Halo) In French just for you, you should read about it.

Hm, I think if urls have punctuation like brackets in them, or periods, it's best to put them in url tags, otherwise the urls come out wrong.
Having never played Halo, I can't comment on that, the Zombies in Half Life are parasitic hosts as well, they become one when a Headcrab attatches to them.

Agh, I'd like to play Halo. All I need are the games... and an XBox... and money...
I'm not really a big FPS guy outside of Half-Life. I do like some multiplayer games of the genre but what bugs me in a lot of modern games is realistic health. Not that's it a terrible mechanic but for me it kinda takes out the fun. I tried Black Ops multiplayer a long while ago and I die almost instantly. Nightfire has my favourite multiplayer because it allows you to actually stock up on weapons, travel to places, etc. In games like Black Ops you more or less just spawn in a battlefield and hope you get a kill before someone kills you. The only game where I like this is Deathmatch but that's more because of its chaotic nature and the fact that the stage design is brilliant.

and Gordon with is nail claw must save the Day !
The floods in halo are Zombis
Heheh, there's a bit more to it then that. There's also G-Man, Race X, the HECU and the major characters from the expansion packs. Although I don't quite get why in Half-Life 2 they didn't include Shephard, Rosenberg nor Walter & Simmons (Eli Vance and Isaac Kleiner are pretty much the exact same characters. Why not just bring those guys back?)

Rule 1: Kill them before they kill you
Rule 2 :Never shoot the puppies
rule 3: ingnore rule 2 if they Zombis if they zombis NUKE THEM !
Rule 339 : Never say no to health points
Rule 225: Throw grenades to the floods
Rule 125: Never grip a cable If there is a roof (Its a barnacle trap(Half life))
In Half-Life you can just use a crowbar to beat zombies and barnacles. In fact you can beat the whole game with just a few weapons if you have some patience. I only ever used the machine gun if my tricks didn't work.

I stop playing half life because the graphics became too realistic in half life 2....
The most terrific level in half life 2 was Lowlife!

I kinda get what your saying because Half-Life's visuals do have a lot of charm, but I think some people couldn't get into Half-Life 2 because it's so hugely different from the original. First time playing the game I felt a bit alienated by the completely different world that only kept few things from HL1.

Hm, the second episode in many a videogaming series is rather different to the first.

So how does HL2 turn you off when Crysis' graphics are of even greater clarity?

I'm happy with the direction they took the series in the sequel. Another return to Black Mesa would have been tiring and a full game in a Xen like environment doesn't sound like a very great concept either. I just wish the games were a bit more connected. There's too many things that are vague and unclear that we'll likely never get an explanation for.

I love great graphics, I wonder why it bothers you?

Because the original Half-Life is from 1998 and a lot more simplistic. The sequel has things like creepy noises and some legitimately scary parts. Zombies went from being very basic enemies to screaming and sometimes even running at you.
But that isn't saying old games can't be scary. The first expansion pack made in 1999, Opposing Force, is scary at times. The atmosphere has more of an isolated feel to it and the new enemies all seem to be designed to make you nervous, making a much larger scare factor.
I mean, just look at the stuff they added in this game:
And a lot of those things are so unexpected. Your just making your way until you have to go in some sewers and all of a sudden you find yourself in the nest of these enormous figures.

Reminds me a bit of this in halo 3:
You enter a base filled with these flood things shooting you from everywhere and they hard to kill on easy, imagine on legendary. Plus you heard them from 3 rooms for away and its really dark in some places. They can kill you easily and come in great number, they even use weapons against you. I used to be shitting my pants when I was younger.

Oh God that sounds terrifying. I'm easy to scare. The fun I had with Dead Space... the only game that I think is amazing but will probably never play again.
incognito wrote:I WILL NEVER PLAY LOW LIFE AGAIN !
Haha, if you ever do play the expansion packs you'll get to meet these fun guys on top of all the original enemies:
The other expansion pack, Blue Shift, is different though. It's mostly above ground and there's tons more interaction. You'll actually get to stick with a scientist for the whole second half of the game. Sadly it's so short.

If you want, you can watch someone play the level on legendary. It lasts about 20 minutes.
