SOTM has always had the issue of more people are voting for the themes they want more than actually submitting to the contest, only this case thus far has been the most extreme. I can certainly forgive those who initially voted only to realise they are much too busy for it but it's been at this since....goodness knows how long now. Granted I haven't been advertising it much, partially because i'm caught up in my own stuff and partially because I know that when I do it there's very little impact, if one could even regard it as an impact.

At this point I find it hard to pinpoint what exactly is going wrong other than if a bunch of people submit then it would attract attention and this get others to make more but that of course requires stuff to be submitted in the first place.

Certainly when I was last active, the community was in regular contact outside the forums (through IRC and Skype). I know that encouraged me to put in the occasional entry. I have no idea what the state of those are nowadays... tbh, it could be rose-tinted glasses but RPC seems less active in general, which doesn't surprise me.
I'd say that we're all older/got lives to live, but a lot of active members are teenagers so that's moot.

For the next contest, I'll be spamming the YouGame some more with "Don't forget to enter!" or "Drawing <'s entry to SOTM now!" Maybe that'll help somewhat.

Honestly I couldn't think of anything to make for this one, as well as being swamped with schoolwork until just recently. I'll definitely make a bigger effort to make something for next month's competition.

For my part, I can't guarantee an entry - I have a number of performances coming up next month - but I will certainly try dammit.
