- The kind of cold that seeps through all layers; it doesn't matter how many blankets or much clothing you have on, the cold still attacks you from the inside out.
+ Feeling pretty decent today.
+ The Christmas season nears.
+ I'm moving out next year. Hurray for parental departure at age seventeen. \o/

Aw, crap! I wear a thick sweater over my pyjama's every night, crawl under two blankets and two douvés and have a third ready for if I get cold even then. I'm pretty much covered... erher... I just got that myself.Adsolution wrote:- The kind of cold that seeps through all layers; it doesn't matter how many blankets or much clothing you have on, the cold still attacks you from the inside out.

I think she wants to go to Europe, but that will require a passport.

Doesn't every child usually have a passport? Or is this not a common regulation for other countries?Haruka wrote:I think she wants to go to Europe, but that will require a passport.

At least inside space Schengen (if you are a native from a E.U. country) you only need your identity card to travel to another E.U country inside that same space. With other places of the world you definitely need the passport. Since the only abroad countries I went were only Spain and France, I only need my identity card so I have no passport.

Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
In North America, everyone is required to have a full passport from ages three and up. I'm fairly sure that the reasoning for this stems from the size of our countries. In Europe, border control is generally very light and long trips are very doable in a car, whereas over here, driving across the country would take about a month. With that, flight is a much more popular mode of transportation here. Plus, as we all know, the American border is the most viscous thing to have ever existed.
But no, I won't be moving to Europe till later. I'll be moving out of my current place and sharing a small suite with SuperSunshine (this is not entirely confirmed yet though) while we go to the same post-secondary for about two years (which is why she (might) be moving over to Vancouver from Ontario). After that I plan to move to Europe.

Wow, really? O.o I was travelling E.U. only with passport and had no idea about identity cards.Haruka wrote:At least inside space Schengen (if you are a native from a E.U. country) you only need your identity card to travel to another E.U country inside that same space. Also, I can't imagine person over 18 years old without passport. XD I though it is the most important document...

I believe an ID card is bound to the continent therefore we're able to go anywhere as long as it's Europe. If I want to travel outside of EU, only then I would need to have my passport. (This was the case when I went to USA) But it's very normal to travel into EU with only a passport. An ID card is just lighter and easier to handle.Rendell wrote:Wow, really? How strange. I think I've had my passport since forever. Maybe Dutch regulations are different to European ones, or maybe they were before 2000.
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
Since I never got out of the Schengen space I never needed to make my own passport.
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
Well, my memory may be foggy. I never owned an ID card before until my first passport became invalid (y'know, that happens after a certain date of time).Shrooblord wrote:How strange. + Sinterklaas is today!
- We'll only be celebrating it with some sort of fancy dinner.
- I'm ill. Very weirdly. One day I do have fever, the other I don't. Same with throat ache and dizziness.
