Eh, I think they did underwater fine in Rayman 3 (and 2, for that matter). Pretty hard to do water physics right, though I guess that's why they only ended up doing it once. Either way, for how little there was it was pretty enjoyable.

Maz wrote:I've given that question some thought, and this is the theories I've come up with:

1.) As opposed to Rayman 2, Rayman 3 has only one scene which involves going underwater. Now game developers usually have a tight schedule; maybe more important things were left to be done, and they just didn't want to bother fix this for one single Part, or forgot about it in the end.

2.) Sort of what Adsolution said: In Rayman 1, Rayman learned that swimming might be a useful ability, so he learned it, and was able to do it in Rayman 2. In Rayman 2 he learned that he should improve his ability to hold his breath. So now in Rayman 3, Rayman's able to hold is breath for a very long time.

3.) Technically speaking, Rayman shouldn't be able to breathe either way, since (assuming that Rayman's body is similar to that of a human) his lungs and his mouth are in no way connected. Maybe he just doesn't have to breathe, although that's somewhat unlikely taking the previous Rayman games into consideration.

4.) Rayman keeps getting teleported from one world to another. Maybe the Land of the Livid Dead is a world with no water, but a fluid which just looks like water. Maybe it's a fluid which contains air and allows Rayman to breathe just fine, or whatever.

I personally think that it's the first one; most likely the developers just forgot about it.
5.) In Rayman 3, gems become a major collectible, just like in the game Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage. In that game, the character Moneybags grants Spyro the power to breathe underwater, in exchange for a small fee of gems. I'm guessing Rayman learned of this, so between levels, he sneakily paid Moneybags the gems he had acquired throughout the first few worlds of Rayman 3; it would make sense, because the underwater section does not appear until 4 worlds in. Ubisoft then learned of Rayman ILLEGALLY importing powers from other games, so proceeded to cancel the original Rayman 4, as well as give the Rabbids the spotlight!

Agreed! I wasn't saying it was bad, I was just saying for the most part I don't really enjoy water bits ;P

Yeah, in most cases I'd rather just have no water at all than mandatory swimming segments.

avoids to saying this bullshit because ubisoft did not illegally copied anything from anyone! Rayman has its personal powers and ability and they are only of him.

rayman 4 was released as rayman raving rabbids for gba exclusively, and whether the 3D prototype was canceled it isn't because it copied skills from other series, but for marketing reasons. read here please: http://www.gamerzines.com/xbox/news-xbo ... elled.html

how I hate those who write this shit, even if rayman arrived later than mario and sonic has been perfectly able to be the most innovative of them!

Hmm, I can never tell whether someone misses a joke legitimately or misses it intentionally.

sorry guys if I take up the defense of the user hulo but I think he's right. Bzzit argued that ubisoft illegally copies contents from other series, but what damn he says! and wonder why you are attacking him when he told the truth?? :|

You do realise that mods can tell when someone is using an alternate account? Though in this case, that's pretty obvious anyways.

If you want a simple explanation, it's rather simple. The joke flew waayyy over your head, what Bzzit said, was said in jest, not truth.

This is all a matter of interpretation of Bzzit's post. I personally don't think it should be taken literally. and hahah that's a new one I've seen, making another account to back up your own argument

now that is cute!

Why don't you read rules first before posting and saying "bullshit" and see that making another account is forbidden unless used as a Ting Account.
