Thanks everyone!
Shrooblord wrote:Also, I'd like to learn how to colour stuff underneath a pencilled drawing some day, if you'd like to teach me. I have no clue how you would go about doing something like that, except maybe if you isolated all the black pencil lines from the white background, put them on a seperate layer and coloured it in from underneath, but that would leave jagged, wrongly-selected artefacts in the pencil lines and I don't see those.
I use the gradient effect, create the mid-tone colour I want, delete the normal 100% covering of the effect and draw in the colour gradient. It's modifying the mid-greys.
stan423321 wrote:I'm pretty sure reduced color palette is intentional, but unless there's a very specific lory reasoning for it, consider increasing color variety of shoes. You don't have to escape the palette itself, but this solid feeling is something just telling me to at least consider changing it.
I personally don't see it, what would increasing their colour variety do?

Omg, these are beautiful. I quite like the second one, because it sorta reminds me to Crash WoC's first level.

*astonished...*
I'd better ask this everyday.
The twilight is very impressive. All the colours are so realistic in it. I wan see that windmills are a little shaded off (it is due to Cry3, am I right ?) and it's well done too.
I love the details of the wood bridges and the plants on the water.
For the trees, they are as each tree I saw in your screenshots or videos : just perfect (from the design to the shadows of the leafs...).

What do you mean by 'shaded off?'

Also, now for a totally different kind of visual appeal, here's a scene I'm setting up near the beginning of Canyon of the Lost. Limpy (that's you, TeensieKing) knows there's a large enemy campsite/holding at this place, and he's helping you ambush them. I decided to put a lot of detail into this area, and thus far, we have full cloth physics on the tents:

See that busted cloth piece on the left of the middle tent? It's blowing dynamically in the wind. Those barrels are also combustible.

Seems pretty calm here ya.

That actually looks quite nifty, but it looks a little odd.
I can't put my finger on it, but there is something which is niggling at me.

Physics-wise or graphics-wise?

I think it's the overall realism of the cloth in the tents, with the wrinkles all over it.

In Rayman games, cloth should be smooth and have stitches all over :P

That's because it's supposed to be night time. The day was only so I could see what I was doing better.

EDIT:
Decidetto you ninja.

There are some rips you might be able to see. And as you can tell, it looks a lot better at night. I didn't even set up the day time lighting, that was mostly default.

It's the way the texture makes you think it's bendy, when your eyes see that it's really not. You see how the texture appears to have folds in it, where the surface is really flat? That's probably what bugs you.

It looks amazing! Details like this are what makes every gamer go "wow, that's cool". I can imagine certain people running around through those tents for quite a while, just for the fun of seeing the neat physics. I also like the goldish teint that cloth has.

Lolwtf, two people posted at the same time I posted what it's supposed to look like. Reference to my above post.

Haha, indeed, I like to do little things like this. Especially since you'll be running in and out of a lot of tents, it's pretty necessary to have the detail.

In the dark, they do look a lot better :)
This way, the high contrast between the lighter and darker shades on the tents makes them conform to the stylized style. It looks especially neat on the tent nearest to the torch.

Also, the into-tents, out-of-tents gameplay sounds like a lot of fun :)

I really like the tents, but their openings seem to use the exact same texture as the sides do, making them look pulled against one another. I don't think that fits very well.

And for the waterlilies screen, you're not using them the way I intended them. One leaf should be the size of your hand palm. I'm working on bigger waterlilies though, and even some with flowers. So I've got you covered on that.

Ah, I see. I'll check if I'm able to somehow randomly scatter them around to fit said size.

RayFan, do you have an electric guitar to hook up to your machine? Because that's the one thing I dislike about KOMPLETE: they don't have any electric guitars whatsoever. The one guitar they do have, Scarabee Funk Guitarist, is one that's intended only as a rhythm guitar type of thing, without any soloing or other lead guitar traits. And that would be exactly where I would have liked to have an electric guitar VST. But if you've got a guitar yourself and you can play one well enough for your likings (my best friend plays guitar excellently so I'm covered there in the end), then you shouldn't worry about that. Just a heads up: there's no fancy guitars.
