Really? Do you have the resolution comparison?

Try to compare for example the Walking Shell's skull texture between PC/Dreamcast with PS2.

Droolie, when do you think you'll be able to come up with high resolution pictures of the levels like in your first post? :o :)

It depends, if you want them untextured like in the first post, then I can get you some pictures immediately, but if you want them textured you'll have to wait a while. :P

Oh yeah, how's your work coming along? Have you made progress trying to get the textures or are you still slaving away to try and find a way to actually get to the files?

Speaking of ripping RR geometry, would it be possible to rip Rayman 3D geometry? There are some really nice high poly models in there, some of which were done better than Revolution.

I'll release the models, the software I used and some nice pictures for RayWiki when I manage to open the textures and use them. Nobody seems to want to help me where I asked, but I'm slowly deciphering the texture packages alone. As soon as I get the textures, it shouldn't take too long for me to import them into 3DSMax. :D
... It will probably take a while to decompress the textures though.

3DS roms can't even be dumped yet so there's no way to access the files for now. :(

Wow, awesome! You're making good progress then! Whew... how I would like to see someone working in the process... doesn't matter if it's slow - it'd be interesting as hell.

Hey, is there a package of Textures(not models/not levels) from Rayman 2, somewhere on the Internet?

That's the whole problem. If Droolie got that to work, we'd already have the models + textures. There are several N64 rips though, but note they are similar, but quite different from the PC version - they are naturally in a lower resolution, but if you don't mind that, yeah, there here and I think Droolie can also be thanked for them, but I'm not really sure to whom the credit should go.

So that means PM Droolie I guess.

So in light of the recent availibility of the game's textures, do you think you'd be able to complete this ripping of the entire game, Drools? How you got the SoWaI (the Lost Isle) in its entirety is stunning. Would love to see the rest some day.

Whoa, bumping from my noob years, though it's fair to say that I'm pretty curious about this as well.

it's not that recent lol, also we tried recently but we still can't get the texture to work (welp, I tried.)

Hmm, I'm tempted to mess about with Rayman 2's textures again, stray thought occurred to me about adding Phazon, mind you, I'm not very skilled when it comes to that sort of graphics work.
