Not going to reply to the rest of the post because of hypocrisy and such, but I never once stated, or even remotely implied the above statement. My desire to play old games and not having the means to play them on an actual console is exactly why I use emulators. And I still have many old games that I can, and do, play on their original hardware. Also, games don't instantly become bad because they're "old."

You accuse me of hypocrisy and "proving your points," yet never once do you give an example of this in your post.sonicbrawler182 wrote:Not going to reply to the rest of the post because of hypocrisy and such, but I never once stated, or even remotely implied the above statement. And the reason I accused you of saying that old games were bad just because they were old is because, in an earlier post, you informed me that backwards compatibility usually only goes back one generation. Does this have to be the case? Of course not, if the companies who make the consoles would stop being lazy fucks! Ergo, you're supporting the idea that games that are old suddenly become bad, or at least outdated. I don't believe in an "outdated" game, unless it's something along the lines of Superman 64. And wouldn't you rather play all your PS games on one console with flawless emulation, or on a PC with numerous graphical and stability issues?
And, yeah, part of the job of a multibillion-dollar electronics company is to provide maximum convenience to their customers. Customers shouldn't have to do jack shit for the company besides pay them. Sony had more then enough resources to make the console backwards-compatible, yet they chose not to.
It's a much better experience playing on the real console than on an emulator. And they're only about $50.Haruka wrote:A difficult choice. Hmmm... Since people are saying more than one, my favourites are Game Boy Advance SP, Playstation 2 and Nintendo 64 (I don't have one but it is a really good console).

I know, Tech. I've played in a real N64 before so I know what I am saying.

I assure you there is a very good reason as to why I am not properly responding to you.technology4617 wrote:You accuse me of hypocrisy and "proving your points," yet never once do you give an example of this in your post.sonicbrawler182 wrote:Not going to reply to the rest of the post because of hypocrisy and such, but I never once stated, or even remotely implied the above statement. Well, I've narrowed it down to fanboyism, trolling, and wasting my time. Which one is it?sonicbrawler182 wrote:I assure you there is a very good reason as to why I am not properly responding to you.
Anyways, let's just drop it. It's clear that we both have differing opinions and aren't going to convince each other of anything.

Not taking any sides but just saying that all issues in Rayman 1 on ePSXe (at least Japanese version of Rayman 1) if configured good has no glitches in ePSXe 1.8 version. I never downloaded ePSXe 1.9 so I dunno about that.

Re: Favorite Game Console
what's so bad about virtual console? they aren't that much, at least on Nintendo consoles.
Re: Favorite Game Console
I don't really like VC unless it's not on 3DS. That way I can play Classics on the go, but I generally don't buy classics digital. I prefer to own physical copy.

Re: Favorite Game Console
Depends really, having the option to buy digital rereleases is nice to those who don't own the physical hardware to play it on, and it's a neat way of also having classics all in one place without having to worry about the tedium of having a bulky physical library, to those who would find difficulty with such a prospect.
Emu's for portables, such as the PSP, are rather neat, playing Metroid titles on my PSP during a long trip is rather common for me.

Man, digital is the best. More dependable, takes up no space, can't lose it, it's always in stock and you don't have to wait for delivery/go into town etc.
As for virtual console, I suppose it's mainly for nostalgic purposes, 'cuz I never played Nintendo back in the day, so the games really don't interest me. I've got the first Super Mario, but I don't like it.

Re: Favorite Game Console
eh, i get them mainly if the hard copy's not available, or if it's dated like VC, which i don't play for nostalgia since I was born in 1997 and don't have memories of them at all. the reason I get VC is because i like the 8-32 bit graphics, their old-timey synth's and more original stories (granted the where back-of-the-box storys but still.)MrBadGuy wrote:Man, digital is the best. And how exactly were the stories of that era, "more original?"

I keep forgeting that all I play is nintendo, sonic, and kingdom hearts.... so I guess sly cooper, little big planet and halo are original, it's just that I don't own most of those systems so I usually forget.Master wrote:And how exactly were the stories of that era, "more original?"

Re: Favorite Game Console
It's surely a hard task to choose one out of the many great consoles, but I guess I'll go with Nintendo 64.
Re: Favorite Game Console
My second choice would be either the PS1 or the original Xbox.
Re: Favorite Game Console
Voodoo Vince for original Xbox is great.
Re: Favorite Game Console
Never played it, but it looks cool!
Re: Favorite Game Console
You should. It's one of the most underrated games ever. I even contacted creator last year and he still likes that game and is sad because he could not make sequel.
