I cannot believe how many people are sucked into buying that complete and utter trash-heap of a microphone, nor can I believe how many people are completely oblivious to the existence of any other microphones on the face of the planet, nor can I believe the nearly religious Stockholme syndrome-levels of retardation people exhibit after having bought one and knowing deep down that they made an awful purchase. It has got to be the absolute worst condenser I have ever heard, regardless of price point. Not only does it sound utterly horrifying, it's a delicate thing made of the cheapest material and architecture that'll break if you so much as look at it wrong.

The Blue Yeti is essentially the Mac of the microphone world, except it's genuinely terrible with fewer than zero redeeming qualities.

But yes, I can give out actual mic recommendations if you give me a budget and a goal (portability, pickup distance etc).

My counter-argument to this is that it's very servicable regardless, but the same could be true of Beats headphones and I hate those. So yeah, I get your point. It's still miles away from the crap I used to make my early videos with.

I also happen to have a Behrenger C3 at home, but I lack an adapter from XLR to PC. Can you recommand anything Ad?

It was actually a combination of you and Rayfist, and Ad. I really enjoyed talking to y'all during those streams we did and thought your podcast idea would be really fun thing to do!
