To me, the main Rayman games are 1, 2, 3, Origins and Legends. But Origins and Legends are different from the others. I own them and enjoy them, but I can't put Origins and Legends in the same category as 1, 2 and 3. I don't know if that's just me being crazy or not. I've been playing Rayman since the 90's, so I was there for the evolution between 1, 2 and 3. But Origins and Legends don't feel like part of that legendary trilogy. I feel like a Rayman 4, a 3D platforming game, is what the original trilogy needs in addition to it. Maybe I'm just insane, I don't know. But that's how I feel.

You're not insane, to each his opinion and I kinda share yours.
I don't hate the UbiArt games but I appreciate them less than the original titles and to me they don't feel that much like Rayman when it comes to the gameplay and the ambience. It's like the Rayman Raving Rabbids games (apart from the GBA one), they're really their own thing.

You know speaking of the UbiArt games the one thing that has me wondering is why Rayman looked like he did in Rayman 3 when he was created by Betilla. Did they just completely forget he had 3 strands of hair and a bandana when the first Rayman game came out?

This scene is not canon.

Now that I think about it, what if Ancel meant by "fourth adventure" the fourth game in the main timeline ? This new Rayman would take place between Rayman 3 and Origins then.

Ah yes, an interquel. A perfect opportunity to resurrect scrapped ideas.

Why am I suddenly curious what ideas you could possibly come up with?

I don't mean my ideas, I mean the ideas from the scrapped prototypes.

Oh, well silly me then!

I think that would be an interesting idea. Maybe this mIght give some connection between the original trilogy and the UbiArt games as well as the reasons PluM mentioned earlier.
After E3, I'm very excited about BG&E2 now. I can wait for another Rayman game, and I'm sure Ancel has a lot to work on right now so I can't really expect much Rayman-wise from him at this time.

August has been a crazy month for rayman! New sparks of hope DLC may just be starting off a new renaissance of rayman! So, what are your predictions for the next few years?

Not gonna lie, I'm not very optimistic with what's next after the DLC. There's a small possibility to get Rayman 4 if the DLC gets an incredible support, but after several letdowns I expect nothing but the worst from Ubisoft. Also, they're currently in a very bad situation, which means they'll focus more on their best-selling games (Assassin's Creed, Tom Clancy's...) for some years. I'd find it suprising to see another game (hopefully I'm wrong, I'd be really happy about that).

“Small possibility” that chance is actually quite big (maybe 40%?)

When I say small possibility I mean 1%. Maybe I'd be a bit more optimistic if it was another game company, but as I said, Ubisoft doesn't give me much confidence considering their financial situation.

Where have you been in the last 20 years?

If there's any chance, then it's less than 10. And with Ubi in charge, chances are more than 90% that they'll mess it up one way or another.

You don't like music! I thought you just found it less original than Legends !?
