Sorry about this. There was a spam wave last night, and this topic was accidentally deleted along with the spam. We managed to recover most of it, but the last couple hours were lost. It goes without saying that no one here will prevent you from sharing your opinion. ;)

I don't think that is necessarily true, the Teensie from the trailer could be just another deviant like The Magician.

The Rayman series has always been pretty inconsistent, so at this stage I wouldn't even be surprised. You've seen the Magician in Origins, who not only turned into a Teensie, but also turned evil. :P

Especially the UbiArt games. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I just can't get them to fit within the main timeline.

I do love the UbiArt games for their art and gameplay, but I can't say I disagree with your logic. Although, I'm sure you like the Pig Latin, Teensie Magician, and most importantly, Rayman's hair creatures.

I wonder if the game will release today? Considering beta users got the game early along with the other titles it seems likely it's a launch title, but then again Ubisoft said the 23rd...

Yeah it's kind of confusing that Ubisoft gave a date four days after Apple Arcade releases, not that I have a method of playing it but still.

Good question! I'll try to the service when it is available to figure this out.

It's great timing that LinusTechTips shared a video for running MacOS in a VM and using IOMMU for a second GPU. I'd be willing to try that or Hackintosh just to give the game a try for myself.

EDIT: Rayman Mini seems to be available now.

On the other hand I need some storage free to download iOS13 since an iPhone’s all I’ve got. :P

In my opinion, I think I don't like the mosaic about Rayman's origins which appeared in the PlayStation Vita version of Rayman Origins because as there are contradictory accounts about his origins, I did not consider it a canon and I prefer more the scrapped backstory (about a preteen named Jimmy being transformed into Rayman after being teleported to Hereitscool) and the backstory introduced in the manual of Rayman 2 over those accounts introduced in Rayman Origins. That's why there are chronological time issues if we think that Rayman Origins is the original Rayman game's sequel, since if we look closely at the design of the characters (particularly that of Rayman's), as well some content about what happen if someone dies, do not match. For example, in the original Rayman game the protagonist looks like a preteen due to having neothenic features such as big beady eyes, as well he has a red neckerchief like did in his Rayman 2 incarnation; whereas Rayman's UbiArt incarnation looks like a young adult due to the fact is very similar to that of his Rayman 3 design.

Not all the things that have appeared in UbiArt-made Rayman games would I dislike. I think Magician's Teensie form is decent and the Pig Latin is not too bad. My favourite nymph (not counting Betilla) is Helena Handbasket because I praise her appearance as coincident with winter weather. I praise Rayman Legends' graphics as impressive due to its quality. Well, that's all I have said, so you can respect my opinion. I also praise the Incredibleballs as something creatively innovative.

Changing the subject, I wonder what the Rayman games released in the 2020s will be like... I don't know if the next game will be different or will use the same engine as Rayman Mini. :?:

I think everyone here accepts that Rayman Origins is a sequel to Rayman 3, not to Rayman 1. Although some people coming here still have the mistaken impression that it's a prequel… Also those mosaics are ridiculous nonsense.

We can all agree that the mosiacs are nonsense, especially the hair creatures.

Someone please help me find an old interview where Michel Ancel states Rayman might have more luck on mobile devices going forward than home consoles. I know it exists, but I can't find it anywhere for the life of me.

I found an interview from 2011 where he talks about mobile games:
https://www.gamesradar.com/rayman-origi ... l-ancel/3/
GR: If the industry moved entirely toward casual/iPhone gaming, as some are predicting, would you still be interested in continuing to games under that model?

MA: It’s hard to say. It’s a very interesting question, because are we making games for the audience? Are we making games for making tons of people play our game? And do we want people to be hypnotized by the game, like some games where you play hours and hours and hours, doing the same thing all around just to increase your XP? Or do we want games that really make you think differently and discover new things? I think it’s very interesting to try to manage those elements, and try to keep doing good games in this context.
We should have a thread that compiles all of Michel Ancel's interviews, that would be very helpful.
