I don't know why I've taken art, I should've taken ICT instead.

My ICT teacher is an extremely posh lady who doesn't know what MP3 format is.

I never liked CDT, although I miss the subject, we made boats in pairs and we called ours "nice pretty boat" :fou: . One of my ICT teachers is french and sneaks up on you, my other one is a very nice funny guy, he had very long hair and got it cut for red nose day!

*ba-bump* (I hope this won't be marked as spam or anything...) :(

I'm stuck with this computing question:

1) The centre's database currently holds information concerning 15, 000 clients.
Calculate how many bytes will be required to store all records (Show your working).

...?

15000x=y

Have you got any specification of record?

Not spam at all, but I think your question is impossible to answer. Don't you have any more information?

EDIT: What stan said. Also, if you initially get your answer in bits, you need to divide it by 8 to get it in bytes, of course.

Actually, I wrote that. Other way.

Oh yeah, I've also got this, but it doesn't make that much sense.

Add all of these and multiply by 15'000. Now, that's easy.

Add what?

Add the size of the client code (4), surname (20), first name (20) and so on, and multiply the number you get by 15,000. The size values are obviously in bytes, so you don't have to divide by 8.

Note that somebody who wrote this record specification was a bit stupid.

1) You actually needed max. 2 bytes for client code, if it's really a number type.
2) You actually needed max. 4 bytes, while compiled bad way, or 1, when good or booled, for sex. Nobody uses text for it.
3) If sex is made using text, it actually needs 7 bytes to keep word "Female", because of null-byte (for people who don't know what's this: "END OF TEXT" sign).
