Yeah... it's quite embarrassing to see stuff like this resurface. :P The internet was very different in 2009, plus I was still young and didn't have any clue that this would cause trouble for anyone. Even then this wasn't acceptable at all, definitely not something I'd ever post now.

I think it's funny, it's obvious that all of this was done a long time ago in a genuine, heartfelt attempt to advance the series, only without realizing the privacy implications. :oops2:

The real question today is, why would you bother Ancel in the first place? Surely there are better ways to achieve whatever you have in mind.

So what you're saying is we should ship a Rayman head to Yves Guillemot?
(I would imagine folks would understand that this is a joke, but to be clear - do not do this)

Not sure about your intentions but please don't contact Christophe Héral, I'm sick of the ukeleles.

It's crazy to think when this thread was created, Christophe Héral had never been involved in a Rayman game! :fou2:

Or maybe working on Rayman Origins... Unfortunately.

Poor man, nothing personal against him and I'm very sure he's a great musician (he did a great job in BG&E), but ffs I really can't stand the theme

Were I of a musical inclination, I'd be sorely tempted to create ukelele remixes of the all previous game themes for a laugh. It'd be funny to hear what they'd sound like xD.

Although Michel no longer works at Ubisoft, I know his current email address *personal info removed*

By the way, since Michel left Ubisoft, I created a Contacting Ubisoft topic.

Dude, stop.

Like I said, it's not our place to be trying to suss out Michel - or any other UbiSoft employees', personal contact information. That's breaching their privacy at best and legally (and ethically) dubious at worst.

Michel has an Instagram, other UbiSoft workers (present and former) have their own socials, such as Davide Soliani on Twitter. Only public facing, and avenues they've given the ok to be contacted through, should be the places where you should be trying to contact them, not by trying to suss out their private contact information to put on a public forum.

Indeed, please do not disclose people's personal email addresses on the forum.

Indeed! Not to mention that the email in question could very well be someone else's anyway, this is all highly speculative.

Droolie also tried to reach Michel Ancel via email. Was that legal and ethical? But at least there was a guarantee that if he managed to talk to the email address, he would contact Rayman designer Michel Ancel, since the email address included "Ubisoft" in the attempts. Sorry.

As far as putting information on this forum. No, it wasn't. They literally said as much a few posts before you decided to carry on:

For the record, I'm not saying folks are wrong for wanting to talk to the devs and creators. What I am saying is they have a reasonable expectation to privacy and fans would do well to remember that boundaries exist. If you're trying to get through to them via means of communication they have kept private and don't want available for anyone to just have a go at (which is understandable considering how easy it is to pull off harassment campaigns), then you're being inconsiderate at the very least and actively malicious at worst.

It doesn't matter how much you love the series, as far as they're concerned we're strangers, they don't know us. We are not entitled to their attention should they not want to give it, and they should not have to worry about overly obsessive fans putting their information on the internet for all to see. Like I've said also, there's public facing avenues that many of them do have, and that should be where you should be going.

I've said this as much 3 times now. I've been trying to be cordial because I was hoping this would be obvious but I've been having to be harsh about this as this is serious. That being said, this is the last I'm going to say on this as I don't really have anything further to add, I'll leave it to the mods.
