Do you think you can port your game to the PS3, Xbox 360, and the DS?

no, but my little brother's got one he barely uses. I'll ask him if he can lend it to me for some weeks, when he comes home next weekend

hehe, i'll ask him about it then, and if i can install this firmware. BTW is the PSP able to have a dual-boot? one with the original OS, and the other with firmware.
Also, do we need psp to edit maps? I thought the map-eiditing is done on a PC? ^^

As long as you are using the Phat PS3, and you don't need things like hardware 3D or ethernet or USB, native homebrew on the PS3 is possible. There are a couple demos of native homebrew for the PS3 over at the PS2Dev forums. However, it would be easier to just make a linux version. I run Xubuntu 9.04 on my PS3 - it's great for games that don't need hardware 3D. This game would probably work rather well on the PS3 in linux.
Porting to other consoles would partly depend on how the game is written. Given it's designed around a PSP, it's clearly not very demanding compared to PC games. But look at if you wanted a Dreamcast version: the CPU speed should be fine, but the PSP has at least twice the RAM (32MB on the Phat PSP vs 16MB on the DC). Now look at if you wanted a N64 version: the CPU on the N64 is only about 100MHz vs the default 222MHz on the PSP (which can be raised to 333MHz); also, you only have 4MB of RAM (8MB if you have the RAM expansion). Note that the DC, PSP, and N64 CAN be compared roughly since they all use RISC architecture processors. It would be different trying to compare RISC with CISC systems.
So I'd wait until the game was nearly finished for the PSP, then the author will be able to say how much RAM the game uses, and how fast the CPU needs to be to run it decently. BTW, if the author is interested in porting to other consoles when he's done, I can help with that. I've worked on homebrew on a bunch of different consoles, including: PSP, PS2, DC, N64, 32X, and Genesis. I'd especially love to work on a 32X version of Rayman.

Great, focus on your exams and do the game later
And thanks for Chilly WIlly for the enlightenment

it was a great post. However, you're saying that porting it to PC won't be any trouble at all? it'll be rather easy for you?

Will we be able to use "home-made" backgrounds?
