How I won my parents over is because we had dvd for over 8 years since 1998, and my dad was happy because ps3 was a inexpensive but same quality blu ray player at the time. in 2006, most blu ray players cost over 1000USD
While the ps3 was 600USD.

Well the ps3 isn't just a video game player.
You can use it for many things. You can put your whole music libray on there with the 250gb hard drive, and your parents could put their family pictures and videos on there, and you can even play the pictures like a slideshow and play music at the same time. So if your parents threw a party with their friends, they could play some music from the ps3. My dad and mom do that when we have our new years bash.
And if you could use some of your own money to pay for it, it would help win them over. And help around the house like clockwork. I did this when I wanted a itouch really bad I paid with my 100$, and helped my dad with random tasks like setting up servers for him and helping my mom clean and fold clothes, and shoveled the new mulch we got for our garden in. They gave me the extra 100$ I needed, just in time for my bday, and I bought it.
I was also in need for a laptop, and walmart was having a special deal on this sweet acer laptop for 275$, and I had been helping earlier, and my parents were still happy about how I was responsible by saving my money for a itouch and buying it on my own, they got me a laptop, because I needed one anyways for high school because I work better and faster while typing than writing, so they got me the acer laptop. :D it has 2gb ram, windows 7 64 bit, and a 2.2gz processor and a ATI radeon HD 4250 graphics card.

The key to winning your parents over is proving that you are responsible, well behaved, and helpful, and making right choices. Then they will feel proud of theirselves because they raised you that way and get things for you to reward your good decisions.
Making good decisions = parents loving you
parents loving you = free stuff
???
PROFIT

EDIT:
CHINA WANTS THEIR WALL BACK

I was always like that.

Well...
you could...... *shudder* sell your old consoles..
on ebay, not to whatever game store you have nearby.
If you have a ps1 you could sell it on ebay because all ps3s can play offical ps1 discs without bugs, and theres a adapter you can buy to transfer your gamesaves from your memory cards to your ps3.
but don't sell your saturn lol. It's really hard to emulate saturn without bugs.

My ps3 doesn't play ps2 games. I'm playing right now and enjoying it much. Ratchet and Clank quest for booty

Please don't make me look like I don't know about the characteristics of the consoles, just because I'm a girl (which are wrongly seen as ignorants). :? And since when I have a Saturn and a PS1? (Why retro-gamers are so unrespected nowadays and looked like intruders by everyone else?)

Plus you are not understanding. There are the parents who (wrongly) give/do everything that their child asks and then there are the parents who don't fall on those errors and restrict almost everything to the child.

Have you played tools of destrcution (R&C5)?
Because quest for booty (R&C6) is a sequel to it.
And a crack in time (R&C7) is the sequel to quest for booty.

Wha...?
I remember reading a post about how you bought a DVD recorder and filmed a playthrough for rayman saturn... (which I watched)
edit:
OH SHIT
that was stacey... sorry for the confusion...
I'm not trying to be sexist...
I just have this problem with including every detail
And whenever I have to awnser something, I always have to include every little detail..
I was born with this sensory problem you see, and I have a bad habit of not making things short and clear.
Sorry if my ramblings offended you in any way.

Exactly, the videos from Saturn are from Stace, not mine.

It doesn't mean I won't ever get a PS3, who knows? But for now it's very unprobable.

Hey I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings at all...
I get really guilty inside if I hurt peoples feelings, on purpose or accidental..

Now back on topic, I hope some way you can get a ps3.
Because if they add online to the re-release of arena/M for ps3, it would be fun playing people here :D

I'm trying to dig up my dad's old dazzle recorder so I can hook up my ps2 to my computer..
I wanna record some rayman arena lap records.

Guys, we're getting off topic here.

@ Raymale: I never said that I thought Rayman 1 would be included instead of Arena, I just think it will be R2 and R3. (Personally I'd love to see online Arena, but sadly, I find it unlikely)
@ Droolie: As for being the same as playing on PC, I'm not sure this will be the case, as the GOW Trilogy (the only Classic set so far) had upgraded textures and other improvements over the originals. We'll just have to wait and see...

I'd love it if It was a revamped Version of 2 where the R3 combat style's 2 fists is over the energy spheres, I liked the way R3 handled combat.

Most of the people who are thinking badly about this game don't own a ps3. What raymale said was so completely true.

It's just another port guys, so stop getting your hopes up. That only leads to disappointment. And remember that this is Ubisoft, so don't expect lots of stuff. I doubt we'll see big new features, maybe a few upgraded textures.

Trophies are definite as well, if anyone cares about them...

@ Raymale, you should post in the PSN Topic

Sorry for being difficult and understanding wrong.
Rayman arena is going to be ported and I have proof.
See, it won't just be two games.
It's going to be 3.
And rayman arena WILL be the third(and online if were lucky)
Here are my facts:
1#All ps2 classics announced so far have come in trilogies.
2#In the past when they re-released special editions of games in trilogies for ps1. There was a crash bundle, and a spyro bundle.
3#The crash bundle came with Crash 2 special edition, Crash 3:warped special edition, and crash team racing special edition. Same thing went for spyro with 1 2 and 3
4#They substiuted crash team racing instead of crash 1, because crash team racing appeals more to people and it's honestly more fun, and crash 1 was a hard game(which I liked) for children unlike 2 and 3..

Anyone see a pattern? they are going to have arena included because it has to come in a trilogy and appeal to newer generations. so 2d and slow paced = rayman 1= not going to appeal to young, new gamers. Same thing with crash. crash 1 was 3d, but slow paced and less features than the newer games, so they re-relased crash team racing in the special edition pack instead of 1.

There is one small fact that you seem to have overlooked; The God of War Collection was only two games

Previous re-releases are no indication of the contents of future ones. For example, the Sly Cooper Collection will be in 3D.

I expect that Rayman 1 will be included in any Rayman HD Classics collection. There’s nothing to stop them from just throwing it in, though they may just go the route of the Rayman 10th Anniversary Edition and include only the PS2 games.

Spiraldoor is probably right.
It would just be a shame to not have rayman arena online....
I would choose rayman arena online over rayman 1 any day though, because I already own rayman 1.
