Well simply, there could be a track or path to follow, and Rayman could hover in it. You've played Rayman 2, right?

I have Rayman 3, and Rayman just uses helicopter in it.

I do not see why you would want Rayman to fly by another way than using helicopter

Rayman can't fly up using a helicopter. He can only glide.
