I just looked it up and America changed the name of French fries to Freedom Fries after France didn’t join the invasion of Iraq.
Oh no, they’re still called French Fries here. The name changed back pretty quickly. Which, can’t blame that, “freedom” fries don’t roll off the tongue as nicely.

Definitely! Also I forgot to mention they reverted back around 2006

To be honest, I've always been curious about why there's a space between the end of the sentence and the punctuation mark. I just never looked into it.
Wow, you're beautiful! Have you considered becoming a star in a video game series before?
I don't know why either, and it's not so consistent when it's only for some specific punctiations like exclamation or question marks... Yet, I think the average French person would be as confused about the lack of space in English too, just the force of habit I suppose! I guess it just looks better depending on the language!
And why, thank you so much! I made sure to look very marketable today!
I tried and I really wanted to start a new video game console too, but Sony came out of nowhere with this so-called "Playestaysheune" and Nintendo released 64 consoles in one year instead of 1, and so everyone forgot about my brand! That's unfair!
I kind of forgot about the whole French fries things, but if I'm not remembering incorrectly it is indeed a mix of originating from France and Belgium, I'll have to look into it again later...

You're right, that's totally unfair! How dare they.
For the French fry thing, all I think about anymore is French the fries, from Parappa the Rapper Toasty Buns:

iirc there were some in the past! Maybe hunch can tell you about it better
Wait, really? So there's a proof of concept, then! I know Adsolution met Rayfist once, but I can't remember if that was through here or RF.

Yeah, playing games on emulators are cool but they really don’t feel like the real deal to me

Yeah, plus there's a real satisfaction to owning a physical game collection! I'm sad the main AAA companies aren't doing enough to preserve their game libraries and we have to resort to emulation when the console experience is just amazing. Nothing makes me smile more than loading R3 up on my Gamecube

Sometimes I feel proud of my massive switch game collection. I might come back to it when I get a pro controller but I’m with the ps5 for now

I know right? Sadly that is not the case and so I have to resort to emulation and you know, that other stuff. Man though I’ve always wanted to get R3 for my GameCube, so mad that I didn’t do it when I had the chance!

That's what I typically do, especially since I grew up with the NES as my first console of my childhood.

The Gamecube was my first Rayman experience, first with Rayman Arena, then with Rayman 3. That's how I got sucked into Rayman. Had my brother not have Rayman Arena, I don't know where I'd be today.

Do you possibly want one of my millions of copies back home in America? All of my sisters got one for Christmas so we have three copies of Rayman 3 if I remember correctly. (they didn't like sharing, haha) If not, it's pretty reasonably priced second hand.

Oh my goodness yes! Rayman Arena as well. I remember being little and seeing the disk and thinking "why is Rayman glaring at an anime girl?" before I understood who Tily was lol

To this day I still favour composing chiptune with this console above all else, and I love the nostalgia and charm these older games have.

I was never big into emulation and always really much much preferred the real hardware. You don't ever get the same feeling that you do when you fire up an old console, grab the game and insert it, hold the controller, then hear those mechanical sounds it makes (fans, disc drive etc.) compared to sitting at a computer and using a keyboard. I am definitely all for real hardware, so I'm glad you enjoy loading it up on the GameCube also!

Mine was the PS1, and it was Rayman 1. I was going to say I'm old, but we're nearly the same age.

Probably the best version of the game to be fair, and it was supposed to be exclusive to Wii U originally.
