I've finally gotten around to doing something with my website again, after having been a bit absent in a timespan of a
decade...
But here it is:
https://reeseriverson.com/
As I said earlier, it's great to see it again! I certainly remember most of the old posts from there...

Well, at least it's back online. And it's a portfolio page so ain'tno way any of you is endangered in the slightest. But still : what the hell, OVH?
I'm getting a generic page linking to
this documentation.

Plus I think the updated theme works out nicely! There are some things I still need to tweak and work on, but that's okay!
For Pirez's site? It still works and loads for me, what the hell?

I guess there's a rule on OVH :
if(Hunch)
{
RTFM();
}

im learning PHP, just to make some journal entrys and blog posts.
I could use templates, but i dont like the limited aspects of them. So i just code all my stuff myself, i will keep you all posted! (also maybe get help with it)

One of the things I used to help make my PHP attempts go more smoothly was at least utilizing an existing template engine, such as
Twig. It was something that began my journey with a but of SQL attempts with a Splatoon like page where I wanted to put something up for rankings for myself for fun, see what I can pull off with a proper graphical system I could code in.
I didn't get far into that since it would be a lot of manual labor for any Splatoon related updates, and no one would really use it but myself anyway. If anything I got a good portion of my website styling to carry over from that project.
It was a valuable learning tool several years ago.

Update:
Fifo and I couldnt get textpatterns to work, so he set me up with word press.
Its simple, but i dont like visual editors. Im gonna have to learn how to customize the website using HTML and css. Cant be hard... right?

I use WordPress for my website, and customizing them isn't hard at all. Especially since you can pick the best theme you favor the most, make a child theme and customize it to your heart's desire!

Indeed, WordPress is pretty flexible, eh?

I guess i just like coding my own webpages over templates.
Fifo got me set up with textpattern, im trying to make my own theme, like
Melonkings website but not the same as them. I want my own theme with my own custom background, but i cant seem to figure it out..
The documents on the textpattern website are confusing for me, it doesnt seem to be talking about how to make your own theme and not acctualy editing the damn thing! Ive asked Melon directly how they did it, but in the meantime i should probaly think of how i want the journal to look.
