But, the time they were with Rayman brought on some of the most degrading things to do with Rayman, and unfortunately, it is what they did to Rayman that makes me feel that they should stay away from being Canon in the Rayman series. The problem with having a concept revolving around anything related to "rabbits" or "bunnies" is that they will almost always remind me of the Rabbids, regardless in difference in look, and, this in turn would only lead me to dislike the idea further, since they reference the events which led to Rayman being humiliated and eventually ending up in Limbo until Origins revived it.
Again, this is my personal view on the matter, feel free to disagree.
I share the same opinion in here. I personally like the Rabbids and the first game was ok but I honestly think that Ubisoft should have separated the Rabbids from Rayman much earlier. RRR2 has got some fun mini-games but it is awkward how Rayman shares the same voice as the Rabbids and behaves like them just to try to pretend he's also a Rabbid in order to not be figured out. There isn't even an ending cutscene to know what happens next, although in the DS version Rayman gets interviewed by human journalists. Now RRRTVP, leaving the 2D Animation in side, the game itself is the result of a rushed project to earn quick money: serious programming mistakes that provoke problems in the control sharpness/precision and can really frustrate players to beat Rayman's score in every mini-game. I played all the minigames, but I can't finish TVP at 100% and I stopped at 92% because of the issues I've said. You unlock Rabbid costumes just for a specific minigame (that is based in luck)... I don't think it is quite an incentive. And as you know, Rayman only appears in cutscenes and acts like a coward. It was a disastrous sequel of RRR2 for me.

After all this pandemonium, I think if Ubisoft continues to use Rabbids in another Rayman game people will think it is a party-game or a game whose quality does not make justice to a real Rayman platformer.

I want to see another 3D Rayman platformer (Rayman 4 please!), but... Rabbids in it? No thanks. Even if I like them at a point.
Did you read what i wrote to the beginning? I hate the wacky rabbids. Im talking about the original ones that are evil and bitter and the updated versions of them.
Anyway, wouldnt it be great to have 2 games the same year?

I have a love-hate relationship with the prototype Rabbids. Their variated and creepy design fitted to be Rayman's enemies, but then there was the redesign for the final version of the party game, and I prefer the final design just because of the visual presentation.

The point I'm trying to make is that the Rabbids have had such an adverse effect on the franchise that I just wouldn't want to see anything related to Rabbits or Bunnies in the same position again, since regardless of differences, it'd always be in reference of the Rabbids which almost killed the franchise back in '06.

Whats your opinion about the Emperor? I think he looks impressive villain for a Rayman game.

A rabbit villain in a Rayman game would have been fine, if only a series of crappy party games hadn’t soiled the idea forever.

I think it would have been a pretty funny idea to have this giant Jabba the Hutt-esque creature who forced Rayman's girlfriend to dress in the slave outfit. They could've had the potential to parody Star Wars so much there.
Though I agree with pretty much everyone else, Ubisoft managed to kill Rayman 4 from ever being reincarnated in the form it was in when it was reformatted.

Exactly. I think the Emperor is even better than Jabba himself.

I agree. I actually hated Jabba. Not because you're supposed to hate him, but because I actually hate that character as much as most hate JarJar.

Hi! Can i come back to the forum if i promise to be calmer and not agressive?

Im asking this because if im gonna be hated all time, then i better stay away from here. But I started to miss you a lot. I want to be part of this community. I dont have anyone else to talk about Rayman games. Youre a great community.

Many of you were saying that i take Rayman too seriously. Well thats true, i take my interests seriously. Not only games, but also drawing, bowling, movies etc. Thats my character. I also dont always think what im saying. Sorry for you who were offended by my words.

But anyway am i welcome back if ill be gentler?

Well no one did anything to your account in your absence, so I guess you're welcome to come and join right back in here. Just a little tip though, if you get really annoyed to that point again, then just stop, think for a second, turn off the computer, and go and do something else. Wait until you're fully calm about the situation, and then return to us again.
Oh, and anyone who said he wouldn't return owes me a tenner. :P
Welcome back Mammoth!

Indeed, I find this particular community to be one that always calls me back when I'm not around for a bit or I try to post less... it's like a (somewhat) healthy addiction. Maybe it's because of how overly casual our cock-f/sucking administrators are and our total lack of heavily enforced rules, I dunno lol, but whatever it is, it's awesome.

Thanks folks! :D

But ill still wait for few more anserws to...erm...see if everythings OK. I just wanna make sure.

I by the way decided to post this question on my own topic to not waste space on the popular ones, even though this has nothing to do with Bitter Bunnies.

Dude, an admin said you were allowed to come back. I'd say that's a pretty accurate confirmation. :P

Now lets get back to the main thing. Now i know that many who have writed here, do not want to see the R4 prototype or an updated version of it. But even though you wouldnt want, i still want to talk about it with you. It is one "dead" Rayman game along with the 2d version of R2 that we never saw and thats a big reason to discuss what would have the game been like. You dont have to agree with me, but you can just talk with me about it.

By the way i have an idea that is at least better than nothing, if Ubi Montpellier is really not gonna release it. What if they would release an official DVD in which somebody from Ubisoft Montpellier plays through the cancelled Rayman 4. Then we could see how the game had been like. At least i want to know everything about it. Releasing a DVD is very simple. The DVD could also include intreviews with Michel Ancel and other Rayman stuff.

Of course i still think that the best thing would be the releasing of the R4 prototype or an updated version of it, so if someone new member agrees with me, then im ready to discuss about it more deeply.

The DVD may be nice, but it'd probably be better to just have a playthrough online tbh. Also, I doubt that the files are still in a proper state back at the Ubi office, we're thankful that we managed to find a lot of the prototype files in the original RRR.
Also, if the topic has kind of changed here, may I suggest the name is changed to the Rayman 4 Prototype Discussion topic?

No. Bitter Bunnies means the prototype bunnies or even creepier versions of them like the one that i drew. I use Bitter Bunnies to not confuse them with Raving Rabbids, the wacky ones that almost killed Raymans franchise.

What does tbh means?

tbh = "To be honest".

Oh, yeah you meant those files. I have to say that Drolpiraat did an amazing work by trying to dig out R4 prototype for us. But unfortunately the musics were the only openable ones, so the releasing of the game itself its in Ubisofts hands.

Few years ago when Drolpiraat was looking for the files, many who disagree right now the releasing of R4 prototype, wanted the release of it then. What made you change your mind about that? The coming of Rayman Origins? Just asking.

I think the simplest way is that Ubi would JUST RELEASE IT, without improving the graphics or anything else. They probably have the game already, so they just dig it out and port to PC and consoles. That wouldnt waste Ancels time so he could focus on new Rayman games (as well as Beyond Good and Evil 2). To be honest the game could be released the same time with Rayman Legends, because if Rayman Legends is gonna be a Wii U exclusive, then others who dont have Wii U will be not able to play it. The rebirth of the Rayman 4 prototype could be like a gift for those who own other consoles and PCs ad the same time a gift for those who prefer Rayman in 3D (like me).

But as i said before a DVD would be the best if the game isnt going to be released. Or an online playthrough, thats good idea too.

Im not going to change the name of my thread Edditaur.
